Andy, where do you think we would be with out oil? How would anything move around the world?
Emissions from combustion engines these days are minimal compared to 30 years ago. Hydrogen would be a good alternative, but while all the Greta huggers are trying to sell the idea of battery vehicles that will never happen. All the time there is Lithium and Cobalt in the mines to sell to us, nothing will change. When that stuff has run out (and there will not be enough to make everyone a car) the places where they have been mined will be a cesspit, then there will be all the problems of getting rid of the by products of production, then the cells themselves, all highly TOXIC!
Like many you have been sold the green idea. Its not hard to work out, its a crap one. No electric motor running on batteries is ever going to move anything large over a great distance. Even the huge earth movers that have electric motors are run by diesel generators.
We need to use what sources we have until we are ready to make a change, and we are no where near ready and putting people in poverty to achieve Net Zero by 2030 is absolutely out of order.
Co2 is not a poisonous gas, anything that grows needs it for life, if we had to much the deserts would be green!
As to answering your questions, you never listen to what anyone says anyway,
your just interested in making snide comments trying to get someone to bite!
