Is the central screw a 1/4”/3/8” thread for mounting to a tripod ?

If so , something like this might do -

I cannot confirm the size at the moment, but I have Just put this base on from my Rekon stand - it fits perfectly.

Hi All

I used the fixings/holes for the mounting system -
Robust strap/lanyard, .222R brass case heated to make the holes in the strap/lanyard and seal the hole edges, a couple of washers and springwashers and done - using the mount fixing bolts that came with the unit (these were tight to undo!)!

Balances nicely around ones neck with equal weight distribution........end of the day there be many ways of skinning the proverbial 'add you animae of choice'!

PS - you will need a robust neckstrap/lanyard with length adjustment option - because with binos and the Nordforce unit around ones neck ye will need adjustment for bringing either into use ithout clashing.
PPS - and you know where the bolts are for the mount should necessity arise.

My experience with 2 units:

The 'clicking' is likely to be an auto-something as mine and me chums does it every so often.........mentioned in the User Guide.
Both ours came with the mount fitted.
'Half hanging out of the bag...' I understand that there were issues with updating these units, so I-O, on the SDUK Forum, said they would be updating them before sending them out from the point the issue became known (leastways as I read it).

I-O have answered my several questions post purchase within a day or two.

That's how they are shipped. The rail is attached - the bag is designed for it in spotter format rather than as mounted as a scope to a rail.

The clicking is normal in most earlier thermal technology - it is the refresh the unit is doing of the image. Common across many Hik units - which this is effectively.

The things you describe sound exactly like unit needed the software update. Mine was the same. Lost zero, didn't hold data. Defaulted back to factory settings. Quick comms with IO and fast response and info on how to do it....which has subsequently been posted on the thread below which is the Immersive Optics generated thread. Look at post number 16 for instructions.

Since this matter was made public at your initiative, it is only fair that we provide a public response after the unit has been received and tested. We have nothing to hide or sugarcoat.
This is not the main issue, but I also do not feel the way this was handled was fair. You contacted us only once, a few weeks ago, to ask how to operate a specific function, and we provided an answer the next day. At that point, you reported no problems or concerns, why not to tell us you had problems and give us a chance to resolve?

We will test the unit for the technical issues you listed and, if you do not mind, update the community with our findings. It may be helpful to others.
Please ask the reviewer who experienced the issue to bring it up, If we do not know about a problem, we cannot help resolve it.
This also made me think about the negative TripAdvisor reviews I have left in the past when I was unhappy. There is often another side to the story.

My scope arrived in a bag too, yes it was sticking out but it had a mount so was expecting that, the upshot is I now have a nifty little man bag I can keep my magazines & ammo in when out shooting

Scope arrived today all I can say is WOW !
It's feckin amazing. Better than my Falcon FQ50..

Anyone who doesn't snap one of these up needs their head examined..

I’ve not seen much proper ratting footage with the Nordforce specifically either, but from what I can tell it’s basically an older Hikmicro/OEM design with a decent but fairly basic 384 sensor. Should work fine for spotting rats at sensible ranges, just not going to match the newer NEOS/Falcon stuff in clarity or smoothness.

I have had my unit a few weeks now at least, (as has my Chum with the same unit to backup his original Hikmicro of same specs) and we have accounted for several Fox and Cubs, initially spotted a good circa 150-200yds away - so to our eyes it is more than just a 'ratting unit'........

Farthest Fox shot using it has been a paced 160yds (my pace length is calibrated in metres ). Most (including some Cubs) were 100-150yds and the unit to our 'Vintage' eyes provides good identification (others eyes and expectations at this price-point will vary) of target species before bringing the rifle into aim. It helps with 2 people to cross-check what is being seen!

Hello, If you have a gun shop near that sells Scopes and Night vision from Immersive Optics maybe they could get one in for your friend to check over before purchase, They do come with a good warranty if you look online ??
