Who would have thought that before the Tactical rifles arrived, that you could end up spending as much again on all the add ons available nowadays.

I think it’s part of the fun as well, customising / personalising etc. But for sure , buying a tac rifle, I need to expect the cost to be just starting 😀

Has anyone else experienced magazine cycling issues on a Katran in .22?

I usually use a single shot loader, but last week I was using the magazines and often they would fail to cycle after 4 or 5 shots.

This is using JSB RS .22.

I don't have any issues with the .177 Katran.

Might need a touch more rotor tension, theres a video on my youtube showing how to adjust them

Anyone done a conversion from .177 to .22?

If so, how quick/easy did you find it and what tools are needed?

I’d be hoping to change barrel fairly regularly - is that possible?

@Mekon88 my understanding is they need to be ordered in from AirMaks - how much are they atm?

Retail on a barrel is £300, if you are changing length then you need barrel and shroud which I package at £340, dont forget barrels are component parts and will need to be shipped to your RFD

I also had this problem with My Katran C in .22. Chris’s advice was spot on and cured it on mine. I was using AA Diabolo Fields.

Evening folks, the prototype has arrived, its actually a lot LESS prototype looking than I was expecting, its actually the rifle from the photos 0001 off the line, it is essentially the same as a production gun aside from not having a Huma Reg fitted currently, that will come shortly so the installed reg is a one of a kind hand made by Maksim himself type affair and it performs just fine, I popped a 2-7x32 AO onto it and zeroed at 26 yards (distance I can shoot from the bench inside the workshop.

I can confirm that the multi shot targets handed out at the YSS by @Ganton Gunner at that distance with a 7x mag are bloody hard to see in low light, and that my zero is clearly off, I was consistently between 5 and 10mm high and about 3 to 5mm left, otherwise she was doing just fine, I will tweak that and re-check in daylight before taking any live quarry with her.

Initial thoughts and feelings on the Lite.

Loving the stock, the positioning is fantastic, very comfortable for accessing the slick safety mechanism, it isn't the same as either the Caiman or the Krait solid stock, but it is a similar design and very slick in operation, despite having a lump of hardwood at the back the balance is still very much around the pistol grip (on my L size) which makes it great for freestanding work.

The length of pull adjustment is now via a PAIR of grub screws accessed through the right hand side of the stock, it is not a quick adjust anymore, like the Katran its a set and forget type of adjustment.

The trigger itself is very much like the Krait, with a little tweaking to my taste I have 2 distinct stages, a nice crisp predictable release exactly as I expect from an AirMaks.

The cocking system and optic rail are lifted directly from the Krait so nothing to report there.
Still using the same valve system and hammer setup and sears etc.

Pretty much all of the original things that make the Krait a great rifle are present in the Lite, just without the external reg adjustment which 90% of folks dont fiddle with, and 50% of folks that did fiddle with it, realise it was better where I had set it and put it back.

The Krait will still be our flagship rifle with its plethora of accessories and tunability to customise it to your hearts content, but the Lite comes in a nice amount cheaper, is just as capable for an out of the box shooter, and the inclusion of a nice piece of walnut at this price really makes it a top value prospect for those looking to join the AirMaks club.

Anyone that was tempted by a Krait W but put off by the price being north of £1700 can now get most of the main appeal including the walnut stock, but at £1400, so its a very nice option to have on the table.

I will get some better images of the whole thing in daylight, workshop lighting is soo harsh its terrible for photos.

We gave out the best goodie bags at the show too.
Hopefully get into the workshop after Christmas and do my shroud mods.

It was more an observation that they are dang small and the hunting scope was not a good choice in that scenario LOL I am debating putting an immersive 5x30 on the Lite and having it as a squizzer basher, being a .22 its not my preferred calibre for target work

Yuck 🤮 .22 lol 😂
Yes I agree the targets are small but if they were big they would be too easy they are my 100m practice targets 😜
The first lite would be better in .177 lol 😂

Don't worry, there is a nice batch of both standard and L size in both calibres heading this way shortly, the very first Huma regged unit got built today at the factory, so a Lite in 4.5mm in either standard or L length is not far away and the UK will have the first batch in the WORLD am I good to you guys or what!

The new Hawke 6x prism blows the immersive out the water Chris

Can it be used by bespectacled folk like myself tho? the 5x30 immersive has 30mm eye relief meaning I can actually use it, unlike the 10 and 14 mag variants :ROFLMAO:
