Honourable mention to Bl4de’s Fat Boy, but the A&M Nelix or Twink that came with the wife’s U2 genuinely had me checking I had air in the Uragan when I dry fired it.

Ok. Not very scientific method and it needs a lot more investigation but I had the chance for 5 min shooting today in the garden.
Using an uncalibrated app on my phone (DecibelX) I had a few shots (nowhere enough for a definitive answer).

My garden with just standard noise (not to far from a road but fairly quiet) measured between 48-50 decibels (remember uncalibrated).

Shooting the Katran with a @mattw975 MWSS200 moved the meter up to a max of 78 decibels. ( About 10 shots)

Shooting it with a 3d printed mod from @PartTimeLegend moved the meter up to a max of 80 decibels. (Only about 4 shots)

With both mods the loudest thing was the pellet hitting the catcher!

My biggest issue at the moment is the case. It is not large enough to store the katran with either mod attached so it must come off every time and that is too much wear and tear on threads for me. Once I get a longer (or deeper so it can be stored folded) case then I think either of these will be become a permanent fixture.

Once my decibel meter arrives (and after a family vacation) I will be doing a more thorough test.

BTW I ❤️ the Katran.

That is an impressive collection.

But, which is the best?
They all sound different on different guns but across the board I'd have to sat the Weihrauch standard mod is the quietest with the Huggett Snipe coming in a close second. The Blade Peace Pipes are good but just pipped to the post. The most disapointing one, I feel, is the BRK 0dB, for its size and cost it isn't, in my opinion, as good as the Snipe, but as I said earlier it would probaly depend on the gun it's fitted to.

Its not really surprising to see that the old tried and tested £65 workhorse, Weihrauch standard silencer is top of the poll so far.

Yay, I must be the winner then lol ;D, as my MWSS200 was independently tested by a forum member against the super popular Weihrauch unit....see in this link below......post # 1

But joking aside, if a sub 12 fpe silencer is designed & built properly then aside from what the decimeter reads.....the strike of a pellet hitting the target will be louder !

I shoot next to a guy that has a Brocock Sniper HR (.22), and the combination of the factory shroud + HW full fat moderator = the quietest air rifle that you have never heard - my Leshiy is damned quiet with the CCD baffle, but his is practically silent.
