Guns with great triggers or not so...

The best trigger for me is my FWB300s I have had triggers that come close but never one that betters it.
 
My top 5 I have experience with
1. Anschutz 9015
2. Steyr challenge
3. Walther lg400
4. FWB 800x
5. Xti-50

I was struggling to think of a 5th as the xti-50/FTP trigger isn’t top tier but is pretty good
 
The Webley Excel trigger was bloody awful.

The best trigger I've come across is the one on the Walther LP53 pistol.
 
Of what I personally own, FTP 900 is nice, HFT 500 is getting there but the most surprising is that of my pro target.

The trigger on the Krait seemed to break very nicely. It was one of the easiest to adjust which surprised me for a buildup.

In two minds about the trigger on my Steyr Hunting 5. I find it too heavy and ai dont think it breaks cleanly enough. But it is a hunting gun..

So what are other triggers like?

i have 2 HFT500 and a mate has tuned both trigers they now have a very short first stage and a touch last stage one rifle is very slightly less than the other.

That could have been the reg pressure settled lower causing that noise. Mine did it after a while so I bumped it back up and it's gone.

I suppose it depends on what you call a good trigger and whether or not you learn to adjust them yourself. Also what your calling a good trigger, if you want super light then you'd need either a Blackwolf or electronic trigger or one of the target orientated rifles.
 
The following is based on guns I currently own, have owned or have used and where adjustable correctly set up for optimum performance:

Excellent triggers:

Air Arms Olympic trigger for the 100 Series (also retro-fitted to some Shamal's);

AA RN10 / Pro-Target / EV2 trigger (FTP900 is same basic unit so should be equally as good when correctly set up);

AA TX200 / TX200SR / Pro-Sport - when properly adjusted an excellent unit;

Venom Mach 1 trigger;

Whiscombe JW50 etc;

Daystate CR-X;

FWB Mod 300S.

Very good triggers:

Daystate FTR trigger option (as fitted to Huntsman FTR Mk1 / Mk2 / Midas / LR90 / 2000 / Harrier);

Daystate CR-94 / CR-97 trigger;

Sportsmatch GC2;

Ripley AR3 / 4 / 5 / 5S;

AA S400 (three sear variant);

HW Rekord;

Parker Hale Dragon;

Walther LGU.

Good triggers:

AA Shamal & 100 Series standard unit.

AA S300 (& early s400) - two sear unit;

Titan Manitou / Mohawk (also the follow on FN19 / FN12 etc);

Titan JB1;

Air Logic Genesis;

Theoben Sirocco (Omega type unit);

Park RH91 / 93;

Webley Mk3 (early 'double pull' type)

Adequate triggers:

Daystate 'standard' (very basic) trigger as on early Huntsman's / Midas and LR90;

HW Perfekt;

Relum Super Tornado;

BSA Airsporter Mk1 & Mk2;

Webley Mk3 (later models).

Poor Triggers:

BSA Cadet & Cadet Major;

Webley Vulcan / Tracker

Sharp Innova / Ace.

The Kral Puncher K has quite a nice trigger. It takes a little tinking until you hit the sweet spot.
 
Hammerli Mod 4 has a superb trigger much better than the one I had in my Walther small bore target rifle and I have to agree the one in the two stage trigger Webley MK3’s is excellent the worse trigger I’ve come across is the one on a Crosman Medalist felt a bit like it was using sand as a lubricant.

Same here - only ever shot mate's Tornado & Telly, I can still feel the pain of the narrow almost pointed trigger blade with a pull of about 7-8 lbs - broadly similar to the power that came out of the barrel !
 
I should adjust the one on my Tm as Ist stage travel is for me to long, 2nd stage light and clean a very nice trigger but if not careful its too easy to hit the break point to early especially after picking it up after using another gun as I often do.
Steyr Challenge a nice light super crisp trigger
Wolverine R again a super trigger but slightly heavier than the above
The Redwolf I had was the best for target shooting mearest touch of the second stage and pellet was on its way.

The mk2 ones are quite good & can be tuned to be even better, but that makes the relum ones look sophisticated...lol, I'm surprised you haven't adapted it to take a mk2 unit yet tbh.
 
My exposure to airguns is limited compared to many of here so I found it enlightening to read all the comments.

The best trigger so far has to be my Anschutz Model 335 Mk1. Very predictable and smooth. Followed very closely by my Diana 60

I've found HW Rekord triggers to be very good, although some took a bit of adjustment to get right and some of the adjustment screws were very tight.

On the negative...

Some of my Dianas have triggers that require a lot of force to pull but they tend to be predictable.

The worst by far is my Webley Vulcan. It requires a really strong pull and seems to go off whenever it feels like. I half expect to see fireworks coming out the end of the barrel.

Real shame air arms dont dust off the Olympic trigger unit design and re introduce it into the current range.
i had one in my now gone njr100,to say its a 30+ year old design it is well above parr of most triggers available today and on parr with very high end stuff like steyr Annie's and walther imo.

The vulcan se ltd I just sold for a mate was the same tbh, but winding out the adjuster Allen screw in the top of the cylinder end cap got it quite acceptable thankfully. Has yours not got that adjuster grubscrew?
