Anyone know anything about this company 3 Legged Thing's airgun moderator range Reservoir Mods and the Modfather

And how have you got them so quickly ? Was that the result of your pm? 🤣
I ordered March 1st, so not that quick. The pm was about rebranding and opening a sex toy store with them, figure if they don't work to make something quiet may as well make you moan loudly, honest guv!;)

In all seriousness so far quite happy they seem the business.

Will you be testing decbibels with moderator and without moderator?
Yeah probably think I will also use 2 sound meters set one by the action/head and one maybe a foot in front of the muzzle.
From firing off a few shots already they do the job and take the crack off as decibels is only part of it, I have tested other moderators previously and found that one with lower decibels doesn't necessarily mean its the quietest if that makes sense type of sound matters.

Well mine just arrived😁 View attachment 959438
Quick first impression very well made, nice packaging and a couple of shots on the Katran definitely showed a difference from the mod that was on it.
I am going to try and find time this week and do a comparison test against some of my others mods, thinking of testing with the hw100 and tm1000 as they probably have the biggest bark of my rifles and maybe put it against the 0bd, weihrauch, twink, and big 200x40mm carbon I have.
Glad you got them. Try them stacked too - in our testing (well before we started mass production) 8 chambers was about optimal for both silence and grouping. Matt Gleaves reckons 9 was his sweetspot and then the groupings went soft at 10 chambers, but I guess a lot depends on the gun, the pellet and the level of pressure.

Your sound meter setup sounds interesting. Want to explain it? We tried with a sound meter but the report is too quick. It needs a pulse meter and they're stupid expensive and very sensitive. Much like my ex.

My thinking is first I'm going to test de gassed and get a reading on just the action as a base line. If the action is louder than the muzzle/mod well job done haha.
Obviously won't be lab conditions but I will set the meter mode and range as fast/high. Between the 2 at different placements should give a good representation as I know as the shooter it always seems louder with your ear next to the action.
I will also have to judge a little bit with my ear as I have mods that look good on paper with db level but they still have more of a crack sound than a thud/puff which I think stands out more but thats were subjectivity comes in a bit.
I have been having a little play with them last night and the urge already had me try the 2 screwed together which looks absolutely insane on the end of the rifle :ROFLMAO: I like them and regardless of what any test shows they do the job equal to others at a minimum from what I have experienced already so worth buying by anyone who likes the look and design, I will be getting another when you have the m14 thread avaliable might even grab a blue for the tm1000(y)

Would you be doing a red version of this??

Which M14 thread? 1.25 or 1CCW?

Glad you can already see how quiet they are. I'm not sure the sound meter will objectively work, especially not in a volume controlled environment - I think there'll be too much background noise to properly test. We're building a soundproof chamber for testing.

Late to this thread…….what in all that is Holy?!?!!?😵‍💫

When did it become practice to deliberately make rifles look like they were designed by Katie Price.

Tony Belas had it right when, at the 2007 Midland Game Fair, he declared:

“Thousands of pounds of R&D on airgun silencers and nobody has ever significantly bettered Weihrauch’s hair-curler design.”

I'm with you, I like a bit of bling but draw the line at laminate and some carbon and brushed or polished alloy, having multicoloured dildos on the end of a gun is a little too far, when they start producing rainbow moderators and parts for guns will be when I give up shooting.

Shhhhhhhh🤫

Don’t give them ideas😱

Let’s push this product 🤮
Huh!

I'm not pushing anything buddy, if you look at my history I mention members on here who make mods all the time and have had many from Frog which are awesome! I will continue to recommend our members no matter what brands co.e out.
I have no affiliation with this company but after seeing their mods on a YouTube vid from the show liked the look and ordered a couple with my 'kinda' hard earnt cash in the beginning of March. This thread started and since I had ordered them and I am a moderator freak that chases the quietest I can get my hands on which our own frog could probably attest to from what I have asked him to make me, I am giving my opinion. When I get a chance to compare properly I will give that opinion fully. If they are $h!t I will say so.
So far though they don't seem to be, and at the end of the day the look of them is purely subjective so people can chose them on that if they like, some don't like bling some do. My benchrest I like funky my pesting I like black each to there own!

U need a new anodising company I have plenty of red anodising is thatl

Totally disagree I’m sorry!

The 1.25 to fit agt. So far my vixen 2 with a liska moderator on is by far my quietest gun, but I want something to fit my uragan.
