Anyone know anything about this company 3 Legged Thing's airgun moderator range Reservoir Mods and the Modfather

How about you just buy one and compare it against what you already have and if it doesn't measure up, send it back. 🙂

Nothing ventured, nothing gained! 😁

I'm taking a punt based on Danny's (and 3LT's) reputation... If the mods are as well made as his photography gear, I'm expecting good things. My daughter used to do the photography shows with Danny and over the years I've learnt that one thing he doesn't do is bullsh*t people. 🙂

Give me scientific proof that there is another sound moderator in the airgun market that SIGNIFICANTLY reduces noise level better than the Weihrauch at:
-muzzle
-20 yds
-40yds
and I will agree with you🧐
So not to endanger myself as since @Wreckless was kind enough to send me my order due to me having a lot of mods and posting on this thread for which I have now taken a lil crap for.
Which weihrauch model are you judging by? I have 2 weihrauch mods and 3 hw100's and the weihrauch mods are not the quietest mods I can run my hw100's on.
I am by no means sticking up for 3 legged thing not tested them properly yet, first impression is they are good and in a reasonable side by side based on size they are better than the daystate 0db long(and cheaper) that I have, but maybe not equal to my 200x40 carbon or agt liska but that maybe an unfair comparison.
I like my weihrauch's as well but I don't understand the sh!t we seem to be giving on this thread for a new brand in the airgun world that is actually selling something different and at a what I think is a reasonable price by all comparisons.

I personally like the look some don't but christ it would be boring if we all wanted the same thing. Lets all show a bit of support shall we, I know if I was a new business this thread would be putting me on a big downer about what I am doing.

Sorry for the rant but I really feel we should be supporting new products if they are showing potential, regardless of what we normally like!

OK.
Take a deep breath, sit down and allow me to explain what I said.👍

1) Late to this thread…….what in all that is Holy?!?!!?😵‍💫
When did it become practice to deliberately make rifles look like they were designed by Katie Price.

:rolleyes:This was me expressing my opinion of the appearance-But then again, taste is subjective. I just think modern airgun design is going down a strange path-that are not toys, they are tools to do a job-paper punching, killing tin chickens or pest control.

2) Tony Belas had it right when, at the 2007 Midland Game Fair, he declared:

“Thousands of pounds of R&D on airgun silencers and nobody has ever significantly bettered Weihrauch’s hair-curler design.”

I stand by this statement. Prove to me that there has been a sound moderator made for airgun use that is SIGNIFICANTLY better than the Weihrauch, at airgun quarry ranges. Because I really don't think there is one on the market. The Logan moderator was fantastic and when Jim Hogan launched the Ripley Elite with Highland Outdoors, I put together a Ripley Team for HFT, receiving rifles and kit for evaluation-the Hogan Decimeater was possibly better than the HW Mod-but not SIGNIFICANTLY.

No hate from me-I sincerely wish this new venture every success-I really do.
I was merely expressing my opinion on an open forum, on a thread.

When you ask for or invite opinion, be prepared for those which may be diametrically opposed to your own.
As you yourself say, we all like different things.

I get that, but thats kind of the point isn't it if you believe that we have kind of hit the peak for making any mods significantly better at sub12 and that range then really all thats left is making them more personalised.
I mean there really has to be a limit to how quiet we can make a mod as my earlier posts point out once its quiter than the action well thats about as good as you could get.
I am keen to test these as I generally do that out of interest and have done it with nearly all of mine.
I doubt these mods are breaking any boundaries in suppression but they are trying something new thats seems good and I'm all for that, plus I do like the options, as I don't see all my rifles as tools its a hobby and I personalise it I wouldn’t need 16 of the bloody things if they were tools.
Also I may have replied to your post but wasn't completely aimed at you in terms of negativity sorry. I was just generally pointing out we seem to be giving a bit to hard of a time to these new mods compared to othed stuff that comes to the market.

I'm winding my neck out to say why all the angst on here? Lord. Hardly going to attract industry is it🥲.

@Wreckless - love to see a company taking an interest in our sport and bringing a new approach. I look forward to trying one when they are released in force. Wish you all the best 🙂
Anything new is immediately alien and untrusted. Seems a sadly pervasive trait of the air rifle community.

Do you work for Weihrauch?

Why don’t you buy one and then tells us what you think instead of slagging off a new company without even trying it ?

Looking forward to dfmwilco reviews. And like Varmmter said “either buy one or don’t, but if you don’t like them don’t bother commenting and spend your time engaging with something you do like”

Yes-my real name is Hans.

And here we go, some forget that everyone is entitled to an opinion, so you don't like some because they don't gel with your own so what! Saying you don't like the look of something doesn't mean that you think the whole thing is crap!

On a slightly different aspect of the same subject just like eyes, ears and opinions different air rifle behave differently with different moderators
so what works very well on one rifle will be not as good on another and so on, there is no one fix it all moderator for every gun full stop!

I tried to explain it to them. Unfortunately, one cannot understand it for them............

Spot on ... some may remember when DonnyFL was hailed as the best thing since sliced bread, yet their suppression subsequently proven to be average at best.

Love it throw a latin abbreviation at it, well if you are a believer in 'quod erat demonstrandum' then maybe you should be allowing these a minute to be tested as is my entire point in this thread instead of already putting a negative on something new. Just don't buy one then I don't like the look of q tec moderators but I don't have a go at them not living up to what some other brand did once upon a time, I just buy the stuff I like.

Just to clarify something - two of those pro team members are PRS, not airgun shooters. Matt Gleaves tested the product well before he was offered sponsorship. There's a lot of tests happening and have happened - Airgun World tested them last month and that article drops on the 29th I think. I'd like to think they're impartial.

But I'd also like to think we have some credibility. We don't do "form over function" - just because we make things look good, it doesn't mean that we don't deliver the goods first. Our primary aim is always functionality and capability, then it's innovation, and then we make it look good.

And for those people that think they're horrible - we need that kind of polarity. That's what keeps us going, otherwise we just become another middle-of-the-road uninspiring manufacturer. That we're aesthetically divisive is entirely deliberate, and when that stops happening you'll know it's because I've lost the plot. Or been abducted by aliens. Probably anally probed with one of our mods.
I have ordered one purely on the looks like you say there must of been plenty of r+d and also discovered some 3LT accessories that will be useful. I will get a pic up when it’s all together. Thanks for coming on here for the discussion I’m looking forward to seeing it in action. 👌🏼

Why the hate? Buy one, don't buy one, or sit on the fence and wait for the results and write ups from the AGF enthusiasts who have taken the plunge.

I think it's great that a British manufacturer is branching out and adding airgun kit to their product range, and also that they're active in this forum to answer questions and keep us up to date.

Maybe in time we'll see some giveaways or a forum discount or something; but in the meantime let's not give them any shit.

Honestly, if you can hear the report from our mods at 20 yards, then you have better hearing than me.
