The Euros Fans Thread

I don’t think France played badly it was just that Austria are a well organised team and played very well. Kante is still a remarkable player and is the engine room of the French squad. Romania had a great game also.

Turgid rubbish. Foden not used properly again, Bellingham knackered at 60 mins as usual, Kane static and dropping too deep.
And my local playing field has a better surface than that embarrassment.

Shockingly poor England performance, these players must be able to summon more dynamism and energy than that crud served up tonight. Thank heavens it’s Southgate’s last tournament. We need a Manager who is positive and will put a rocket up their jarses. Ahhhhhhhhh Homer face palm

What a complete waste of time, why do I keep watching this shi*t? They are more than decent players but are not motivated or organised to go out and win. Something needs to give, manager needs to go.

I've a feeling that if we fail to win this tournament, they'll offer the job to Klopp.
I dunno why Bryan Robson never got it. The intention had been that he would take over from Venables after Euro 96, but it never happened for some reason it another.

Yes, just watching Spain, they play attractive football and that Yamal is something else. Marc Cucurella is looking solid and having a great game so far

Spain should have ended at least three up. Sharp, attacking football, never afraid to lose the ball in the Italian half. Fearless football.

England what a disappointment. Southgate needs a huge boot up his backside and then pass it down to the rest of the squad. Probably end up missing anyway. As for Spains game perhaps it should be shown to our squad . Fans have paid a lot of money to attend games but see 💩

southgate is going to put a little bell inside the ball, to see if it will encourage his players to run after it ⚽⚽⚽🏆

He's just too 'nice' ... The team is a reflection of that it seems. The Trent experiment never worked yet he keeps trying it. It's clear the system with Kane staying high doesn't suit him nor the team. The ball goes up, he fights with defender, he loses, ball comes back. Rice doesn't trust Trent so he sits low, Trent sees that and he sits low too as he really doesn't know what role he's playing (or can't).
Defenders see that and they drop.. All of a sudden we are in our box defending. Who in the England squad plays this way week in week out?? Not Walker, not Stones, not Saka, not Foden, not Bellingham, not Rice, Maybe Guehi does (which is why he's looked good in comparison) but he plays in a team that breaks fast. England break like a tugboat turning, slow and ponderous.
I coach youth football and we are constantly being told by the FA to be 'only positive' but yet the top team in the land play negative football Head bang 65

Think its too early to write England off just yet.
There's been plenty of tournaments in the past were they struggled out of the group but went on to put in some solid performances in the knockout stages.
The 2020 Euros are a typical example when England "lost" 0-0 to scotland and it was all doom and gloom afterwards from certain area's.
As painful as it is watching England i would rather watch them fight hard to get out of the group than breeze through it with three easy victories over "weaker" teams.

Certainly not writing us off yet. We have loads of ability and room to improve which I hope we will. Hopefully we will be a little more expansive and positive next week and qualify comfortably. A few days to work on the system will help and et's hope he starts being positive rather than just not wanting to lose.

I think this is a clever ploy by Southgate.

Deliberately look completely useless, come second in the group and play Germany in the next round.

Germany will rest all their best players for the first knock out stage thinking it will be a walk in the park - but England start playing football, run around a bit, pass to their own team, go up the other end near that netty thing with a man standing in front.

We will be 3 up before they realise they have been duped.

Then we will sit back, soak up the pressure, give them the ball, stand around like statues and concede 3 in in the second half.

It will go to penalties where we loose 5-0 because Southgate has a flash of inspiration and puts Alexander Arnold in goal because anyone who can do a long pass must be good in goal too!
