The HW99/95 harsh shot cycle jumpy etc etc.
The older HW35s weblys airsporters etc all with leather washers different transfer port sizes all seemed very relaxed in operation yet made comparable power my late leather washered hw35 is in the mid 11s ftlbs and consistent accurate , they went about developing this power with less precision if you like than typical modern piston seals yet down to set up of the internals made power and were even consistent and in some cases at least equaly as powerful.
Its like a lot of engineering it can be arrived at via different routes a bit like a diesel with electrinic control or mechanical pump pumps still work just fine are less complex in some ways and still work. i am of the opinion a leather washer set up with the relivant transfer port changes could work great last a heck of a long time and be perfectly practical in use.

Don’t find the 95 .22 isn’t jumpy or hold sensitive. @Discocuzzy and I have a couple of stock 95’s, no issues, 25 mil steel spinners at 40m off a bag, 9 times out of 10. Great guns.

HW95 in .177 previously and .22 currently - no matter how I hold them I don’t seem to be able to produce any consistency.
Most people seem to recommend holding them very lightly and consistently, but on my last go the HW95 was best when gripped like the last bit of the Titanic above water

Well I'm late to this party, and i can't comment as i don't have a HW as yet , but i am about to order a HW 30 and i dont see it mentioned on this thread which obviously pleases me somewhat
