What was your first motor bike ?

Did my cbt in 2008 and bought a dt125 to ride then did my direct access 6 months later and traded it in for a zx10R the day I passed

My first bike in it's second year in my ownership, RD 50m with a very highly tuned RS100 engine in it, RD 350 exhaust cut down & changed into an expansion pipe. Rattle can paint job. Tiny rear sprocket came from JB sprockets as a one off.

FS1E in approx 1978 when I started my apprenticeship, followed by an NVT125, followed by RD250, followed by very nearly being hit head on by a speeding Volvo, which scared 7 shades of sh1t out of me, so I sold up and never got back on a bike again.

Suzuki TS90. I used it to ride to Croydon from Gloucester every other weekend to see my then girlfriend. Cruising at 60mph along the A40 ay 60mph was fine, push it to near 65mph, top end, would feel it tighten up. That was time to open the clutch before it seized. Fed up with low power and seizing I passed my test and bought an A65 Lightning JYE 549 D which was a pile of junk for many reasons.

First bike, TS100ER off road only.
First road legal bike DT125RE.

Love a 2 stroke, always wanted aTDR250 but silly money nowadays..

My first road bike was a Honda C70. There were 7 of us with them and we were called the hells idiots, feared throughout the land. I broadsided a Vauxhall Chevette with it and broke my collar bone.
Then I had a RDLC 125 and passed my test. Bought a RDLC 350 and a bloke in a Jag knocked me off in a hit and run. I passed my test in the car and gave it up as a bad job.

I found my first 'motorbike' on the local tip. Called a Cyclemaster, it was in pieces, but I managed to carry the rear wheel assembly and all the controls back home on my bicycle. Next stage was to remove the Sturmey Archer 3 speed stuff and fit it into the aforesaid. Knowing absolutely nothing about engines I spent ages fiddling with it and cycling between the garage and the extension bedroom opposite. It started only once, with sufficient force to slam into the wall destroying the front forks, wheel, bending the frame and giving me a good bump on the head. Can't remember throwing it all away, so I suppose my parents did that for me. Probably went on the rag-and-bone wagon?

First bike was an old Yamaha 50cc moped, not the FS1E I wanted but the V50. Great thing and put up with a lot of abuse over fields.

Passed my test and got a GSXR250, a 4cyl 4stroke import, very quick off the mark, but my cousin trashed it. He ended up like Barry Sheen and attracts magnets now.
Replaced it with a 1983/4 GPZ900R. That was a great bike, went all round Europe with it and I regret selling it, but wife and young kids sort of guilted me into it.

I'm currently between bikes and negotiating for a Honda CB600 with a guy down the road, he's retired and doesn't ride any more. My play is to convince him it's a shame to leave it standing, and besides he has several others to look at.

My first ever go on a bike was in 1975. My next door neighbour bought this 60's moped with a thumb throttle and a 3 speed gearbox. Never seen owt like it since, what a lemon. Anyway we took it over the fields to scramble on and he gave me a go. It took us an hour to fish it out of the Went beck after I went in with it head first.
This wasn't the only time I diced with water. In 1985 I was racing a MKII escort on my RD125LC while I was at college. I failed to brake in time for a 90 degree bend, hit a pile of tarmac in a parking bay on the bend which launched me and the bike 20 feet into the air. I landed in a river with the bike which was only 18 inch deep which kinda hurt a bit. Me and bikes? just no

this was my first bike/moped, raced it around the garden until i got a bike licence,my first real bike was bsa bantam 175,, this is the real me at 15ish ,with attitude.

Suzuki GP100U, B895 UCK, did 12000 miles on that little thing, started riding in 1987 and still a daily rider today. No pics of it, believe it was scrapped shortly after I sold it to get my first LC

Only ever had one motorcycle and it was a Yamaha DT175 MX

BRF 281T

Brand new £535 back in 1978

I had some fun times right up until someone in a car pulled out on me, I went flying through the air with my life flashing before my eyes and I switched to driving cars instead.
