what decent pistol for target on a budget

Hi good people, me again so my daughter is enjoying target shooting with her CO2 .177 rifle but now would like a nice pistol for up to 10m target ideally no more than £250, what should she be looking at
 
The two that come to my mind are; the Gamo Compact, trigger needs fettling out of the box but otherwise a good target pistol if a little low powered.
Weihrauch HW40/Beeman P17, I don't know much about them but do hear good things from those who own them.
 
Maybe something like a Diana Bandit?

Edit: or there is a HW45 in the sales section for £235 which may be worth a look at.

Yes really easy to do. I did a guide on here to help make it easy for others if they wanted to try it themselves.

They're good guns. Not really what I'd think of as a target pistol though.
With it being a CO2 powered gun the aim point would change towards the end of the cartridge as power tails off.

You can get loads to mod them. When I had one I bought a lot from GMAC and eBay including trigger parts.

Her pistols she has are CO2 BB replica`s and TBH she is very lucky if she hits the paper at all so the 2240 would be a good low cost upgrade, but early days and she might not like it, though she seems okay with my carbine version

Personally id be looking for old recoiless springers from diana or fwb maybe!
 
The CP1-M CO2 target pistol combined with Boris Johnson’s lockdown started me in 6yd/10mtr target pistol shooting. It’s never going to win the Olympics nor put pellet on pellet and has all the disadvantages of CO2 but worth a look and change from £150.

Decent recoilless springer much easier to use than ssp. If ssp is your choice then consider Gamo PR45. Don't be taken in by the look of the 'anatomical' grips of other pistols, etc. Main thing is to wherever possible try before you buy as fit is more important than with a rifle.
 
Spring pistols can be hard to cock. There's a wide choice of CO2 pistols in BB or pellet depending on your shooting distance and preferences. I only have one pistol, an Artemis/Diana version of the CP1. Inexpensive, not too heavy and as accurate as I can shoot it. Something like that would be good to start with.

That Umarex looks very interesting and enough left in the budget for a cylinder. Have you got one @Alakar?

Agree 100%. Its stable mate, the HW75, however is a delight to shoot, not so difficult to cock for a young-un, is capable of pellet-on-pellet it I’m not sure they are available within your budget; be delighted to be proved wrong.

I like the look of that and might leave enough in his budget for a pump to charge it with too. (y)


I did spot this earlier but didn't mention it as have no idea about what they're like. Price is reasonable for a PCP I thought although above what the Op wanted to spend.

Reximex Mito are a good pistol & if you get the synthetic model it comes with a detachable stock, fit lighter trigger springs & fire away they are good fun.
