Hi,everyone,
I’m currently looking for a perfect airgun/scope that meets my requirements:
1. Powerful enough to shoot rabbit, wood pigeon, pheasant and maybe duck in the UK. So, shooting day and night are possible
2. I prefer very small guns, but don’t want a pistol because I want something more powerful. Don’t mind bullpup, will accept folding stock too provided it is small during storage and transportation
3. Accurate - something for rabbit, wood pigeon, pheasant, duck, maybe I will later decide shooting something else, not at the moment. However, I do not plan any target shooting
4. I’m left-handed, ideally I want something comfortable for me. Would be even greater if it is comfortable for right-handed too
5. No firearm certificate for the UK
6. Something that doesn’t get outdated quickly. Even better if it becomes a classic gun as I intend keeping it for many years - I have Izh-53 pistol for 30 years now in my homeland and use it to shoot wood pigeons, I hope to have the same story with this airgun. And I am ready to spend way more
Not sure if I should have a single shot or multiple shot - I like single shots because they are self-contained, but fine with multiple too as they have lighter moving parts and this is better for accuracy
Do not know about the budget, but my biggest regret is buying something again because I outgrew it or it keeps breaking and fear I one day run out of money and hence I had better buy good gear now and keep it forever. I tend to buy something that exceeds my capability not only for now, but for the future too. I spent customing my Izh-53 more than a price of several brand new izh-53, but I like it because it shoots now further and still accurately
I read about KalibrGun and AirMaks Krait, they seem to be good, but don’t know what you think
What would be your recommendations?
And how do you recommend selecting gun? Go down to a shop and try various guns or simply buy online for home delivery? Should I choose scope separately from the airgun, or this should be a combination?
What else I should buy for airsoft hunting? I recently started deer stalking and bought Swarovski NL Pure 8x42 binoculars and Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 LRF thermal, now thinking to get myself British army trousers, Austrian GoreTex M65 jacket, army webbing and pouches to keep everything on my waist, gaiters and IFAK
Many thanks

Brocock Ranger would be my first choice.
Airmaks do some nice rifles.
Reximex ixia would be my budget choice.

First of all, you need to become familiar with the laws of this country. You can only shoot where you have permission from the owner of the shooting rights. You can only shoot birds that are on the General Licence (GL42) and only if you can meet the conditions of that licence. Pheasant and duck are not on the General Licence.

You need to start by shooting targets to make sure you are competent before attempting to shoot anything living.

Perhaps it's just me--and I appreciate things are done differently in some countries--but this seems a bit odd to me. Or have I caught AGF paranoia?

But @Omega I think you need to spend a few days researching airguns, the law on them, and most definitely what shooting living creatures with an air rifle in the UK entails. For example, nobody I've heard of hunts with air soft guns, you can't have a new rifle delivered to your home and to shoot ducks and pheasants with one requires a land permission and the landowner's express permission to shoot them. You can't shoot pheasants at night, either.
Good luck!

If this isn't a wind up, then the first thing I'd do is familiarise yourself with the current General Licences. No quarry should be taken with a pistol, unless it has been trapped and has sufficient power to guarantee immediate humane dispatch.

And you've started deer stalking recently - yeah right :ROFLMAO:

Mmmmm, yes, British army trousers and webbing are an absolute must for shooting rabbits at night. . In fact, there are some shops where they won't let you in unless dressed this way. Poundland springs to mind.

However, there is a bylaw in some counties which states no trousers at all can be worn when hunting during August.

We don't use pistols when hunting for pheasant. We prefer to use a flame thrower as it roasts the birds before they hit the ground.

Is it me or are alarm bells ringing?
Apologies to OP if I'm wrong.

I think you need to do more research on the validity of what you are stating.
You state uk alot so assume you are asking as you wish to pursue your interest in the UK, unless I have misread.

You have listed animals you wish to target some of which are a no no yet you state you have started deer stalking so this would indicate that you are aware of and understand the laws and regulations of the UK unless you do this elsewhere or literally only stalk without shooting? i truely hope you dont do this with a Baikal air pistol!

You say no plan for targets so how do you plan to zero and check zero of anything you have.
How do plan to practice and hone your skills etc

As for an lzh 53 if its the Baikal pistol I think it is and putting ethics aside you would be better of throwing it at a pigeon as its not that powerful or accurate unless your staring at the whites of his eyes.

Might I kindly suggest you rethink your approach and concentrate on the basics first before going all Elma Fudd as until you can shoot consistently at a target over a given distance you should not even be considering anything live.
I understand some things may be lost in translation in the original post but slow down and have a rethink.
