Tx200 cocking

replace it with a magnetic one, I hear there is a few benefits to doing this. However, I must admit I am yet to own a TX200. When I bought my 97 it was specifically because it had a button that I rationalized would make for a more secure detent of the cocking arm. Years later and countless tins, I am ready to admit the button can be a bit of a pain in the rear...

having said that, I vow to become a TX200 owner and give its due before opining on its merits and de merits again..

Evening all,
Is it easy to ease the tension on the ball bearing that holds the cocking lever?
Its killing the ends of my fingers trying to release the arm!!
Hard work when you’re trying to run 100+ pellets through per session on the range
TIA
If it makes you feel any better, bought a new TXHC last year that does this and kills my finger ends!
I have oiled it but it’s not any easier to get hold of, it feels like it could do with being just a little less a tight fit. Would be great if someone knew how to solve this. It makes using the gun for extended periods quite unpleasant!

There are a couple of ways to make this easier. If it's an HC, you can fit a cocking aid, which is basically just a thicker grip round the end of the cocking handle which makes it easier to get hold of. This is the Rowan one on my HC compared to the original:

Alternatively, there is someone who does a magnetic catch replacement for the ball bearing, don't remember offhand who that is.

It's Tony Leach who has developed the magnetic catch replacement, if you're on Facebook look for an airgun group called lost volume and speak to Tony on there- in my opinion his work on the tx200 is on another level compared to anyone out there, highly recommend

On my TX (not hc) the problem was it was too loose. It was secured with a grubscrew under the the locater that the bearing sits in and was threaded so I tightened it by one rotation and it solved the issue. If yours is the same perhaps loosening it by one rotation may cure your problem. Mine wasn't loctited in place but yours may be so a little heat may be required to free it up.

I find mine a little easier to release by pulling it slightly sideways to release it from the detent. That allows you to get a better grip. Once free of the catch, pull it straight down to cock the gun.

(y) I too was finding unlatching awkward. Much easier using fingers on one side to unlatch before gripping to cock

Reason #39 why I do not like under leavers. … 🍿 out … here come the anti BB GANG. 😁

I've temp wrapped my TX underlever with camo tape, a lot better. I'm now looking for something rubbery.
