Tx200 cocking

I tried a cocking aid but it made it harder on my fingers. I tried a heat shrink tube, made it easier but it started expanding and came loose. Then I tried bike handle bar tape, Felt really good but again it didn't last long. Its naked at the moment, back to being a pain. On the other hand, cocking aids work a treat on my 97's.

Pulling that arm with fingers to release it from the ball bearing leaves me with a sore big finger and I don't think a cocking aid is the answer.

I know you can get a magnetic one but not sure it's ok with a sling attached.

So I was looking for a cheap easy solution and was thinking of a small loop of sorts on the end. Put finger in loop and pull open and cock.
Any thoughts or other genius solutions?
Why doesn't someone make a HW97 type for it? Never had a problem with that.
Also, I'm thinking (me brain 'urts) whilst on the bench is there any need to keep pushing it back in place and just leave it loose?

I wear an Anschutz glove on my left hand (HFT glove) and never get sore fingers grabbing the cocking aid to cock. Have you tried a glove? On the skinny cocking arm it's a faff, with the aid it's easy

I'm an oddball, I cock RH, load RH and shoot LH, couldn't load with a glove on.
I have covered end of the arm with camo tape and helps a lot, must get some black, pink doesn't work ;)

You can't leave the arm out of the detent. The arm will fall down and the shot will slam it up, possibly bending the arm or breaking the cocking shoe.
Was wondering something like that. 😯

Even worse as the arm falls down comp tube moves to rear and ABT engages.
Never had a problem releasing lever. Rather than a direct pull I squeeze thumb towards first finger in gap between underlever and barrel.

Exactly this solution saved my TX – I was about to return it. Additionally, I removed the cocking aid, which created enough space between the barrel and the lever to press my thumb in there (instead of pulling). Before that, it was literally cutting up my fingers.

Same here, never bothers my delicate fingertips or manicure :p

Try electrical tape that won't fail?

Evening all,
Is it easy to ease the tension on the ball bearing that holds the cocking lever?
Its killing the ends of my fingers trying to release the arm!!
Hard work when you’re trying to run 100+ pellets through per session on the range
TIA
Tony Leach makes a magnetic replacement which you may find better

I went with the Tony Leach solution and I am glad I did as it is a million times better.IMG_5306.jpeg

This is the main thing I hated about my old TX200, that and the stupid anti-beartrap release switch. Sadly Tony Leach was taking a long break from manufacturing his magnetic catches at the time, otherwise it might still be with me (except for the anti-beartrap switch :cautious:)
