Hi guys,

After reading a few positive reviews on the newer SMK Spitfire pellets I ordered a tin. Quite impressed in all honesty, clean and fairly well made.

One pretty huge issue I've found is the actual weights of the pellets in .22

On the tin, it says 14.6gr but they are actually coming in at around the 16.5gr mark! I've emailed SMK, as this kind of weight difference could cause some issues! I'm doubtful of any reply though...

Whilst I'm fully aware these are "cheap pellets", advertised weight is usually what people use to chrono their rifles and 2gr difference is rather big!

Cheers!

That's quite a difference, how much are they per tin and what's the accuracy like, cheers🙂
I paid £10 delivered, they're usually around £7 in stores from what I can find.

I've not had a chance to shoot yet, I'll try and give them a go out to 25 yards this evening. They look well formed and weights are pretty good across the 15 or so pellets I tested so hoping for good things.

Thanks for this, I would be really interested to hear of your experiences with these (y).

Well... I wasn't expecting that!

Right to left breeze and a bit gusty, not adjusting for windage, 4 10 shot groups, 27 yards.

If I hadn't just stocked up on Crosman Ultra Mags I think I would of bought a sleeve of these Spitfires... To be honest, I could probably tighten the groups up quite a bit too, I had just pumped the gun up and I was a bit excited so the heart was pumping away a bit.

For ~£7 a tin that's just bloody brilliant in my opinion.

That's really good, wonder if the groups would open up significantly at longer ranges, thanks for taking the time to upload these pictures (y).

Air arms S200, 45 yards, gentle right to left breeze, no windage adjustment, 10 shots of each to lead in the barrel, then 10 shot groups.

SMK Spitfires 16.5gr

JSB Exact 15.89gr

Aimpoint is almost identical, the JSB hitting 1cm higher.

I am no target shooter, and I'm leaning on a dog crate as a shooting bench... So there is definitely room for improvement. But a £7 tin of cheap pellets is pretty much on par with the £18 a tin JSB 🫣 and this was my "good" batch of JSB too...

At 16.5 gr they are the same weight and look to be the same pellet as the SMK Victory Shock Domed

Stupid name
Dit cheap
Well made
Decent in all my .22 rifles at the ranges I shoot paper at

Bought a tin of these last week to try out, my .177 Pretensis absolutely loves them! Haven't tried them over 20 yds yet but pellet on pellet at shorter distances. Excellent reliability for short-range pest control work too. Will be buying more for sure
