New Pard 007S

Thanks for that Matt i have just been out and tested it again done all the things you have mention also after watching the Aussy Pard videos they say exactly what you have pointed out so after doing all that in pitch black surrounding in night mode black and white picture is very grainy not good at all i can,t see it being the Optisan CP3 scope because its a cracking little scope but i think i have tried almost every thing day time image seems pretty good it is night mode whats grainy i could do with someone Local thanks for your advice

Have you done the following:
1. Pulled the head of the IR illuminator as far forward as possible so that the IR beam is a spot rather than flood
2. Do you have the IR set to IR3 (maximum power)

Cheers

Bruce

Yes Bruce i have tried but i will give it ago again just to make sure cant seem to get a good clear image at all

If there's a lot of water vapor in the air it'll give a grainy image but not so much at close range.scope would probably be darker image more than grainy but that's a guess.Maybe the newer v isn't as good clarity wise as the A version but wouldn't have thought thered be much difference.Have you got another scope to try?

This might seem a daft question but are you turning on the inbuilt IR illuminator or using an add on IR torch when you're in NV mode?
The default setting is off, with you saying the image is grainy it sounds like the inbuilt IR isn't turned on, you press the IR button to cycle through the power levels of off/1/2/3, it's the left button that turns NV mode & the inbuilt IR on

i am using built in IR not a add on switch it on with IR button and cycle through 1,2,3, setting i can see IR doing its job ok and can adjust beam by pulling forward for spot and back for flood lit what i have noticed is Blue indication light flashing when in use but battery power ok seems to flash when i am on IR mode i have also noticed red laser beam on photo of the 007s but mine doe,s not have it on for some reason

The red lasers have to be removed for the UK market, earlier versions of the 007/008 did have the laser when they were first imported to the UK but UK regulations require the laser to be removed prior to sale.

I have the 12mm 007V and use it with a Optisan CP 3-12x32. The image is very clear. I use it at a fixed 15m because thats were the rats are when I'm sat outside me shed so I can't answer the distancing questions but at 15m I am on between 4 an 5times mag to give a wide field of view and a large target. IR in one with the IR on flood (all the way back in) and the clearest picture is with parallax at about 12 or 13m.

The blue flashing light is the indicator light to show it is turned on near the control buttons i have just tried it in daytime mode outside and perfect like looking through a pair of binoculars
so maybe that is proving something dont know what but you would think if ok in daytime should work at night ok

ok so we are proving not the scope then i have heard for ratting 12mm is best what i have 007s maybe 16mm but they said the new model where better ?

That blue flashing light is normally shown when firmware updates are being applied, if a memory card is installed try taking it out and see if the blue light continues to flash.

If it doesn't then I think there is a firmware update stored in the root memory location on the memory card, this will flash (update) the firmware on the device each time it is switched on (hence the blue light), you need to move the firmware file either off the memory card completely or into a folder on the memory card.

but they said the new model where better
Don't know about better, I thought (always a problem) the S used the same chip set as the V just a redesigned shorter module so head position could be maintained on the stock.
