New HW100 Release: HW100X

I really like it. Prob wouldn’t buy a new one, perhaps a used model in a few years time. Calling it the HW100 Custom could have been better that ‘X’, which sounds a bit like an iPhone and is a bit naff IMO. But overall, it’s a solution to some existing weakness which Weihrauch have identified in what is one of the best pre-charged rifles around.
It’s a tough one because what makes perfect sense to us in English might not make as much sense globally. Using a letter, in this case ‘X’ works well pretty much across the board as well as the native German

I notice that the adverts for the "X" are being economical with the figures re: the specifications of the new rifle.
Has there been any subtle upgrades or alterations to the original HW100?
What is the overall length?
Barrel length?
Weight?
Stock adjustment parameters?
Etc.
Some stats on the Range and country website.

I really like it, I bought a hw100kt lam this year and think it's brilliant, the things they have improved like reducing the weight and increasing the shot count have addressed what I would consider to be the originals only weakness, although it didn't bother me because I never see enough pests at once for shot count to be a problem and I use a bi pod so the weight wasn't a big deal either.

It's good they have integrated a mounting system on the front of the stock for bi pods or torches or whatever, it really seems they have thought about everything and done something to make it better.

I still want a self indexing rifle but seeing this makes me want this as well. I recently got back into this hobby and I have already bought 2 new rifles, a zulus and loads of other stuff this year costing thousands, this is getting expensive, well they say you can't take it with you when you go lol.

It looks like a decent and well overdue update, addressing the two main gripes people talk about, weight and shot count. The gear nerds will love it too with the adjustability and mounts etc. This full length laminate version seems to be aimed squarely at target shooters, I'll be interested to see what the walnut carbine looks like.

The stock isn't to my taste, bag cut outs look shit, the forend is oddly shaped, and the black cheek piece - why?

But, good to see Weihrauch evolving the product.
Hi yeah I agree 👍 i don't understand it really, bench rest shooters will love the stock but aren't too bothered about weight .Hunters will benefit from the lighter weight and higher shot count so surely they need to do a sporter stock with no rear bag cutout.

For anyone baulking at the price (and this comes from someone who has only ever spent £1100 on his most expensive gun), a comparison for perspective. Well, two.

Their closest equivalent = £1,620.00

Their equivalent of what I'd want one I'd want = £1,495.00

Seeing that Vector ad has made me realise they are even better value than I first thought compared to the Ratworks version. Vector at least are including what looks like the standard HW mod in the price

Although if this is accurate from Bradford Stalker and I hope it isn't but sort of hope it is, then it's a no chance from me.

This Karbine length HW100 X varient in .177 offers upto 80 shots per fill.

I can already get 75 out of my .177 KT because I can shoot it down to 75 bar without POI drop, I did it within the last month. If that's the upgrade, I'll keep my money in my pocket, I don't need this. Give me 100+ down to 100 bar and I'll be interested, for sure, because I currently get 60 down to 100 bar and it'll take a significant uplift in shot count to warrant the outlay. Shrug tt I like the gun and I like the idea of owning one but my head will rule on this. For once. 🤣

It will also be interesting to see how this hits the value of new-but-soon-to-be-obsolete HW100.

The original HW100 will gradually be fazed out making way for the HW100 X.

I suspect it's probably more aimed at first time buyers (✋) as a general product refresh, either way when mine arrives I'll return with shot counts and probably frankly unhealthy amounts of chrono data
