Mods off ticket.......nearly there.......

Bought a mod yesterday at an rfd…didn’t go on my ticket…(I’ve got a slot for it anyway)

They are though some RFD's claim they have the authority for the Firearms lLcensing to send them to your door . They have on their website if its a sub12 airgun then they can. post it to you.
Yes some RFDs don't think the VCRA rule about face to face airgun mod purchasing applies to them, being rather under-cautious if you will.

Although it appears some retailers are happy to now post FAC mods having just been sent a copy of your FAC by email, others are still requiring people to present them in person, you may say being rather over-cautious.

What we have under the broader understanding of the rules is that you can get a FAC mod mail order but not necessarily a sub12 one.

Although we now have a simpler route to obtain FAC mods the multiple layers of legislative changes have resulted in more pea soup and less sense once again.

What they should have done is discard the need for FAC whatsoever and removed or explicitly excluded mods from VCRA, and the entire issue would have ceased to exist.

Up here they are classed as an Airgun so we have to present our AWC to the RFD and I wonder if that will change to allow us to show the RFD a copy of our cert then they can post it but someone brought up that someone could have a copy of a cert they no longer have as it was revoked but they still have an airgun illegally .

That would only apply in Scotland though as the AWC only applies in Scotland and an English or Welsh RFD is not as far as I'm aware
obliged to ask to see your AWC.

I agree . It's been rushed out with no clear guidance in my opinion though others may disagree.

I agree .

The propensity for moaning and turning a good news story into a negative on here astounds me sometimes. Get over it, it’s now so much simpler to obtain, keep, sell and move on mods so let’s celebrate some good news for once. Unused slots for mods have now disappeared, so what, you don’t need a slot for a mod anymore so nobody has lost out.

For balance, a legistlative change that results in a large amount of "yeah but what if" questions is fairly indicative of poorly thought through regulations.

I mentioned plenty of these potential issues months ago on this very forum, as did others, and although I never really get bored of being right it's disappointing to see yet more poorly considered changes made. If we could see it our glorious overlords should certainly have.

Not really sure what your point it. Be happy with mediocre government performance? No thanks
