I want this 1970’s Seiko. Talk me out of it!

Hello, I use to buy and sell watches years ago but the best deal i got was from a Thai watch man who bought in parts direct from Japan, Seiko movement in a nice case and expanding bracelet , I gave it to a friend from Estonia , I rate the Seiko although my Timex off the market cost me a tenner,

I don’t own this, but I want to, it is in an auction that finishes tonight.

I buy watches because I like them. Cost, names and fashion don’t usually come into it. I have a thing for 70’s watches at the moment and have quite a few freaky digitals that time

Can you talk me out of this, or is it as beautiful as I think it is? I also have no idea on value, and as it would never get sold, it really comes down to what I would pay for it. Some guidance thee too please🙂

Tis the veritable Anne of Cleeves among timepieces, my good sir.

I am not in watches and don't know much about them honestly but my father-in-law has this one. Bought with his first wage from teaching and still using it, and always bragging about it 🙂. It's probably a rock-solid piece. Go for it 👍.

if you want the ultimate 70s Seiko then look no further, the legendary Pogue

Hi @Tinbum, looks very similar to mine.

My old Dad always wore one of these, guess he got it in the early 1970s. No idea what happened to it after he passed away some years ago, but I eventually found one on EBay after a lengthy search.

Only paid about £40 from memory, but it’s my favourite watch. Very comfortable to wear and keeps good time.

Best of all, reminds me of my lovely old Dad every time I look at it.

Buy it @Tinbum! I've got a few Seiko 5's and if I had spare cash I'd be having that one!

Colour's not everyone's cup of tea but I think it's a cracker. Looks in good condition too
