HW100x. What a let down after all the hype.

Does seem to be a bit of a stretch by the OP to slate the new HW100X (very publicly) without even having owned or significantly used it!
You can't really tell that much just by holding one in a shop TBH?

Much more valuable to the community IMHO is a genuine review, by an actual owner, who has used one for a while, or by someone who has actually shot one at the very least!

I've seen one or two negative comments, but my personal experience thus far is that most people seem to be happy with the 100X. I know a couple of people who own one too and they are happy.
My own experience with Weihrauch is that all mine (many) have been of the highest quality and I still own several.

NB: I openly admit to being a Weihrauch fanboy, but I also own and admit to being an Air Arms fanboy and a Kral fanboy and a Cometa/Hatsan fanboy, and a Ratworks (Apex Guns) fanboy, and a SMK CP2 fanboy, and a Umarex fanboy, etc, cos they are all guns that I've owned and had positive experiences with, so.....
Bit of a fanboy indeed

Had a look at 2 100x's and have to say i won't be buying one for 2 reasons. 1 The stock, both of them looked and felt cheap and ugly and 2, the action. Both not a patch on the earlier actions, not as smooth and noisy. Give me an earlier model anyday and save enough to get a decent scope.
Get yourself a Snowpeak like me and forget about the rest. Chinese power!:ROFLMAO:

Yep, I give credit where its due, and I don't give credit, (or negativity) to products that I've not used.
You basically don't like the look and feel of it based on (presumably) just holding one or two. Fair enough, but your thread title slates them based on the "hype".
I'm all for useful and constructive criticism as it helps us all, but just bad mouthing a product based on not much at all does not really help anyone.
Just my 2c worth of course.

I am, and no.

So if you don’t need to alter anything on the hammer assembly to adjust them, why do we all send them to you or HW100 tuning etc to modify them and make them adjustable? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I bow to your superior knowledge on these things, Andy; not trying to pick a fight, but I don’t think HC really give a shit and they won’t if we all keep sorting known issues because it’s too much hassle to use the warranty.

Thanks Sam. Owners do that for the same reason they send them to me because I fit a hex adjuster or put a slot in the adjuster if they don’t want the additional expense. But I can adjust them without any modifications.

Very succinctly put Pete!

I said i didn't like the stocks or the noisy actions on them compared to the older ones i've owned, that alone put me off buying one of them

The actions are the same in the X, the only thing that’s changed is the cylinder and regulator. The laminate sporter stock is new, but all the other stock options are the same as the old models.

If it's true that the HW100x is seeing high numbers of returns for power or other operational or quality issues, it is totally unacceptable.

This isn't a new and complex product. It's based on the HW100 platform which was brought to market around 22 years ago and as such, the X variant should be bloody perfect. HW have been involved in airgun design, manufacture and marketing for decades and there is no excuse for springers galling or PCPs having the reliability issues that have been plentiful over the years. Reputation should only last as long as the performance and quality on which it was established continues to prevail. Sadly, for this manufacturer and its global customer base, this is no longer the case.

Loss of power. And shot count. I was only getting 60-70 shots before power dropped massively. Although the cylinder still had 130 bar in it.
I recently had exactly the same problem but with a brand new HW100ks (not X).
I was filling to 200 and was only getting 25 shots (177) before it was down to 120.
Needless to say it was returned and I ordered a 100X instead….still waiting!

My HW100KS .20 does about 60 good shots, I’d expect a well setup .177 to do similar or slightly less.

My unregged Ultra does 40 within an acceptable spread, and AA unregulated guns are even better, makes you think regulators are pointless on carbine hunting rifles.

Just had mine back today, so hopefully all sorted. They're a cracking rifle. I just hope it's a keeper!!

When someone tells me my HW100X is ALL hype....😂

Is it true?

The importers can’t get them fast enough, the waiting list for the laminate is significant and my local shop sells out as soon as he gets them in. The guy from Hull Cartridge was on the phone to my local shop when I was in there and apparently thousands have been sold already, so in the grand scheme of things we’re hearing about a few guns.

Let’s be honest as well, this thread was started based on speculation and not evidence!
