How hard to fill a PCP using a Pump?

Well I have used the pump for a good while now and I can say its easy enough to pump and despite 60 approaching fast its not a problem at all. For once my extra padding has made something easier. Now that a second PCP is on the cards though a tank is looking like an essential purchase.

Can you use a hand pump if the bottle is completely empty ? I keep hearing conflicting stories. Has anyone here actually pumped theirs un from completely empty by hand before? Many thanks , happy Christmas 🎄
Yes you can :) did it many times. In some guns you have to cock it when it's completely empty before filling.

Don't make life hard for yourself 😭.

Yes you can fill using hand pump.. its not so difficult when I setup the regulator for this gun I had to fill it loads of times
and I mean a lot lol... one thing I did notice and this restricted what I could and couldn't do to setup the gun.

I tried to put a softer valve spring in the gun.. using hand pump I could not get the gun to fill as air just came back out.
Put the harder spring back... in and altered hammer spring and regulator instead to get it to what I wanted.

Now its just chucked back in the cupboard.. it was along journey but I learnt a lot on the way
how to anodise, how to fit regulator, and with a lot of help from members on this site I got there in the end :)
I have just finished putting the gold paint inlay for the enraged writing back on the gun it looks nice I will post pic later.

If I start to use the gun for targets, I wouldn't use a hand pump I got hand pump on the premise of I would really use the gun that much.

When I was approaching 60 it would have been no problem (y) when approaching 70 it nearly put me in the hospital 👎 now halfway to 80 I had to have a nap after reading this post😀😀😀😀 Buy a Cylinder (y)

Hi,
A month or so ago I bought a Walther RM8 from a chap at work. It came with a small divers bottle and seems to be a great set up except due to work and family I have not yet zeroed it in. I have fired 8 shots but tomorrow is the big day and I will hopefully get it up and running.
Even before purchasing this kit which came up randomly I had decided to buy a Gamo rifle which came with a pump so I have to ask how long does it take to fill an average PCP? I don't live near a shop to fill the divers bottle and I'm not that keen on it so... is a pump a viable option?
Thanks in advance... any tips on which pump would be handy, obviously the cheaper the better.
Hi, I Googled this and it lead me back here, yep, no refill locally so it was a flip of a coin between a pump or a compressor ? I haven't even bought a PCP yet ! :-) last rifle was a Venom 77K, looking at the prices wish I'd kept it.......
