Garage pellet catcher for chronograph use

I’m sure I’m not the only one who needs something like this.

Looking to make a short range pellet catch. As in say 50cm from muzzle catch. Just enough space to fire over a chronograph or to dump a pellet from my springers into.

I shot a paving flag at short range to test it and the pellet ricochet at my leg. You don’t want 16,2gr pellets doing that.

I use a bucket stuffed with rags and old towels, quiet and safe.

Cardboard box stuffed with rags etc.
Virtually silent, just about free of cost, takes a couple of minutes to make.

Never had a ricochet or a "pass through" with mine.

I use a wheelbarrow on it’s side and tape a piece of cardboard hanging down to it with splats stuck to it the pellets never go more than a foot once struck but that at 20m

Generic pellet catcher with plumbers mait around the edges and an old chopped up towel, silent, stops it dead, easy to discard of when full. Also used the flat style with plumbers mait and 5 layers of thick carpet which works well.

I use a carrier bag which is completely stuffed with junk paper.
Supermarket sales magazines are superb for this.
They give them away for free. . Fill yer trolley.

I need to put my glasses on. When i first saw this i thought it was a bag full of vinyl records.

I use an old carpet sample, totally silent and an added bonus is you can inspect the pellets afterwards.

I use a stand metal funnel pellet catcher, but stuff it with old cut up t shirt bits, then old washing up sponges and also use a thick cardboard in the target holder slot with a few bits of cardboard behind that.

This. I put a couple of layers of EPDM inside the back. I also keep plenty of spare card to tape over the front with gaffer tape when the holes get too large and pellets start hopping out. It is also pretty quiet, and works at near to point blank.

To chronograph my rifles, I just shoot directly into a pot of plumbers mate putty.

As a quick one off, I used a thick block of flower/floral foam soaked in water and then with a wide section of wood behind it. Single-session use really, took a pounding but stopped ricochets perfectly.
