TweakedAgreed it shouldn't be unsolicited, but the quote from the OP suggests that if I put a pic of a rifle with a mod on and someone asks who made it I'd be risking a ban by answering.

Fair enough, but that isn’t quite how it comes across in the op. I was about to start blurring the mods etc. on my gun pics
It's in the members drop down tab in the menuSorry but I seem to be unable to access the Banned List. Tried "search" but no joy.. Help would be appreciated.
If your on a iPhone turn it sideways and you will see Members , tap that.Sorry but I seem to be unable to access the Banned List. Tried "search" but no joy.. Help would be appreciated.
I again don’t want to ruffle any feathers but agree with that 100%. He is sorely missed on here and like you say there is nobody else offering the complete range of services he does and the way he does it. He has always been nothing but helpful to me. I miss his articles too and they were a great reference point in stripping guns you had never stripped before and were incredibly well written. It was also nice to have something technical and in depth to read and get your teeth into. Can I just say though, I like it here on AGF, made friends and acquaintances on here and also had my measure of some knob heads- though admittedly they don’t last long!!
Hal is/ was one of the good guys. He is missed around here. His stories of hunting were first rate. His technical articles were well written and easy to follow.
His shed tinkering tales and services were golden!
I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with him and his wife when I collected a shroud he’d made me for a rapid back in ‘21 and more recently (earlier this week) I sent him some worn parts for my sons bike that are no longer available and he’s re made them and I’ll get them tomorrow. The guy no longer wanting to be here is a real loss to the forum.
Then there are people in the makers section who’s standard reply seems to be “ask me again in 2weeks” which after a few times of asking I’ve just given up on. Either they don’t want the work or they’ve a grudge against me for some unknown reason.
This forum represents a true cross section of community, not just from the uk but worldwide, brought together by (mainly) our love of airguns. It’s an amazing and diverse knowledge hub.
Long may it continue and I hope we can all just get on with one another.
Genuinely not wanting to ruffle anyone’s feathers here either. Merely stating facts
It was his choice to leave and be deleted stating he wanted nothing to do with the forumI again don’t want to ruffle any feathers but agree with that 100%. I myself have contacted people present (and now past) to make me things and often had the same repsonse as @Wayno-81. If I’ve asked Hal the response has been “let me know when you want to come round and I will look at it for you” with no hesitation. Another time I was looking for an obsolete part for a gun and I tried all over here and searched all over the internet. I also contacted 2 “engineering” shops and nothing. Couldn’t get one made. Hal went out of his way to drop me a message and offered to make me one. People like that are becoming few and far between In the Airgun world. There was a time when you could think of any part you wanted making and there was an engineer on one of the forums who could do it. That seems to be a thing of the past and Hal seems to be on of the last few. I also had no previous affiliation with him until I met him through this forum but felt like one you had met him you had a friend for like and he would do anything/go out of his way to help you if he could.
As above it was down to this great place I met him and the last thing I want to do is lose access to this great resource. It’s such a shame it couldn’t be resolved as he was a fantastic asset to the forum and is a fantastic asset to the Airgun world.
I wasn’t inferring it was. It’s none of my business why he left or what went on between the mods and him. That’s a private matter between the mods and Hal. I was just stating the fact I feel sorry it couldn’t be resolved. Does feel like big loss no matter whose choice it was. Like I say the only affiliation I have with him is through this place and I struggle to find anybody else who does what he does in the way he does it. Without this forum I would have never met him or any other of the helpful member on this place so long may it continue. It was his choice to leave and be deleted stating he wanted nothing to do with the forum
He was never pushed out etc
And that’s fair enough- just wanted to say my piece on how I found him in person. It was his choice to leave and be deleted stating he wanted nothing to do with the forum

I haven't commented on this thread yet...
To be clear and as Pete stated above we didn't asked Hal to leave. We didn't ban him. We didn't push him out.
If I remember correctly Hal chose to stop participating in the forum in protest of forum changes and tweaks. That's it.
He then contacted Pete and asked for all his data to be deleted and his account be removed.
I know of two occasions now where Pete has been humble enough to reach out to Hal and offer him the chance to return to the forum and get involved; both were met with a categorical 'no'.
I think what is most frustrating for us is many members speak about him like the mod team banned him. He chose to leave the forum yet we have somehow ended up looking like the bad guys.
I was fully away it was his choice to leave. Just wanted to say how I feel too. It’s such shame on all parts. I was sorry it couldn’t resolved. I had seen the mods had reached out and after reading that I hoped he may come back. And that’s fair enough- just wanted to say my piece on how I found him in person.
Honestly when I was speaking to him the other day he bears no resentment to any of the mods team.I haven't commented on this thread yet...
