Dear members,

It has come to our attention that there is an ongoing trend of certain members promoting the services, products, and external platforms of individuals who are no longer part of this community.
We are writing to clarify our policy and the actions we are taking to address this.

Very recently, a former member who publicly distanced themselves from AGF and requested the total removal of their data was offered an "olive branch" to return. This offer was explicitly declined; the individual confirmed their feelings toward the forum have not changed and they have no intention of returning.

As they have made it clear they want no affiliation with AGF, we will now be honouring that request strictly - It is contradictory to use this platform to push the work of someone who has publicly disparaged it and refuses to be a part of it.

This forum is a space for members who choose to be here and interact under our established Rules and the Spirit of the Community.

• Many of our members and manufacturers contribute specifically to use this platform to sell their items. It is unfair to them to allow others to "back-door" products via aliases or middle-men.

• When an individual is removed or chooses to leave, allowing their commercial interests to be marketed here undermines the standards we maintain for our active, contributing members.

Final Warning & Enforcement:

We have already issued a permanent ban for a member found to be intensively Direct Messaging others to facilitate access to this former member. This activity has been monitored for some time, and this message serves as an official warning:

• Using "silly aliases" or private messages to bypass a name removal and continue pushing a former member's work is unacceptable.

• Any threads, signatures, or comments directing users to the services of banned or non- affiliated individuals will be removed immediately.

• Moving forward, anyone found sharing via messages or promoting the products of this individual—or any banned member—will be removed from the forum.

We want to keep the focus on the members who are here, active, and committed to making this a great place to be. If an individual wishes to have no part of AGF, we will ensure that separation is total.

We appreciate those of you who contribute positively to the community and thank you for your cooperation in maintaining the integrity of our platform.

Thank you for your attention & understanding.

Best wishes to all members.

This makes perfect sense, and as it looks like it's a repetitive thing, I'm sure an odd member mentioning getting something from "XYZ" ages ago will be seen as such, and not pushing that persons agenda, otherwise we would have to check the banned list every time we answered a help post or made a suggestion to another member Shrug tt

If the members name is in the filter and wont show when you type then circumventing by modifying it as not going to go down well if you do it the same as modifying swear words to get it to show .

If it does not show when typed as it should be the don't try to circumvent the filter or you may get a holiday and it may be permanent.

I have no idea what is going on

Long story short.
A former member who left but made and still does make some exceptional items was asked if he wanted to come back to the forum and said no. For the sake of ease let’s call him ********* ( we all know he is from the Harry Potter films )

Meanwhile in a galaxy far, far away, another member/members were touting the wares of *********, got banned for doing so and it’s been decided it’s not to happen going forward.

Much ado about nothing then. Good oh.

Dont mention ********* .
who the feck is ********* and how many *********'s are there.

🤔 I know of at least 3.. mods .springers .tuning

Seems an eminently sensible decision, you either want to be a member here and contribute and benefit from the site or you don’t. No one is forcing you either way.
If you don’t want to be part of the community you shouldn’t expect to gain from it either directly or via third parties.

How big a 💩 did the former member take on the mods doorstep?

Bans for a 3rd party pushing his services via unsolicited PMs is fair enough, but to not be able to mention a name seems ridiculous. Are all non-associated RFD/makers/tuners names to be treated the same for balance?

So, can we mention Hal's moderators and shroud?
You just did 🤷‍♂️

Pretty much exactly this

The man above already mentioned a name ?
His username was removed etc as a courtesy as he wanted deleting we didn’t ban. Hence why you can’t type his username.

What we don’t appreciate is someone who publicly flounces and says their piece about the forum to then get business courtesy of the forum.

Please note it’s not just 1 ex member this is about, it’s just lots for 1 ex member tipped the scale for us to do this.

So basically if you are saying to people message me for this persons details

Or you are just randomly messaging people who have said they want something, saying do you want me to put you in touch with X to get you one done.

Or you are going around the forum recommending their products and services, yes we will now not bite our tongue.

Agreed it shouldn't be unsolicited, but the quote from the OP suggests that if I put a pic of a rifle with a mod on and someone asks who made it I'd be risking a ban by answering.

As above, actively promoting a member who no longer wishes to be here, I can absolutely understand is a problem, and preventing it is not unreasonable at all. But for the avoidance of doubt, if someone posts a pic with gun equipped with a shroud or mod etc. made by a member no longer on here, and someone innocently asks who made it, stating as much, and that they are no longer on here would potentially result in a ban?
