3d printing pistol grips.

Got it.
Printed a second set.
Came out good.

Printed grip from Cults, just testing if it will fit properly. First attempt was PLA-CF but filament jammed mid print. That filament is abrasive like sandpaper and does not flow very fluent through my long filament path. Also Dragon HF with stealthburner is not best possible combination. I was too lazy to remove top cover and load filament straight to extruder. Printed then second copy with plain ABS, the one installed on GK, it worked out better. Carbon version is better on esthetics and also it is grippy, not at all slippery, like ABS handle being shiny smooth surface.

I like stock wooden grip too much to switch, but maybe I'll take only gun body fitment measures out of the stl model and draw something of my own later...

Shinier one, ABS is Creality brand, matte one, PLA-CF is Copymaster, Ash-grey. Brown effect is from lighting, surface is kind of shimmering matte. I like how fibers hide layerlines almost completely. Print layerheight is 0.2mm.

Creality dual spool filament heater/dryer arrived yesterday… it was in “Black Friday” special for $69.99 so I jumped on it. Not had time to set it up yet.
I had a spool of graduated silk pla, so decided to just use it up and did these grips for fun.. and the matching pump handle is printing as I write this. Not to everyone’s taste, or even mine, but why not, and all in the spirit of testing!

I’ve been putting my modified Ender 3 v2 thru its paces, and it’s doing well, but also I’m working on upgrading my Ender 5 plus.
I just put a Microswiss Revo all
Metal Extruder on it, and am just trying to figure out the filament path… as I want this one to print abs and nylon someday, i have to build in the thr need for an enclosure too.

I have another project machine on the back burner too.
A buddy gave me a Ender 3 Neo with a dead extruder.
I’d had an idea brewing for a while.,
So I bought an “Ender Extender” kit for it, and now it’s gone from the stock 220 x 220 footprint to 400 x 400… but I think I might go in another direction with it now and make it into a laser etcher. I have the Creality 10w unit, and I like the idea of trying that!

I also played with idea of laser etching toolhead when I had my ender going. But didnt get that far, I gave ender to my daughters bf to tinker with and built myself two Vorons, v0 and v2.4 with 300x300 bed.

Thanks!
14.5” barrel arrived today, and I’ve got some tuning mods coming too.
Just a bit of fun!
