Best moderator/silencer

Agreed, I’ve had all of these and they work so well.
Still have the XLK on my Krait, it’s so quiet.

My Leshiy is super quiet with the CCD baffle on board, but a friend of mine has a Brocock Bantam HR with the HW/XLK mod fitted, which is just ridiculously quiet.

The Weihrauch mods are generally highly regarded and recommended, I have a couple.
On my only smallish gun (NP02, not really a bullpup) I have a Huggett Atom, which reduces the bark a fair bit.
Cheers

I have the Daystate large 0db, but still think the Weihrauch mods are a tad quieter.

The standard non carbon twink is also really good. On my S 501 US or my Airmaks Katran it turns the bark into a dull ppffft!

I would have said my Hogan few years back. Purely because of its build. Solid.
Now I'm obsessed with making them up from water pipe from scraps I pick up then I get my mate to print end caps to suit.
Use a piece of wire mesh rolled carefully around which I wrap some material I had from inside a baby cot mattress which works fantastic.

I have one we Nick named Bonny Blue. Had blue end caps and a large internal volume.

A@m. Carbon nelix on the r10 big but very good
Blade peace pipe on the katran short n. Fat but excellent.

I have an XL on my KATRAN SUB COMPACT,
Wanted to try a Donny Sumo or even one of the Eagle Vision silencers to compare

The Weihrauch ones are really good, but I have an A&M Twink which is better (and cheaper) but the quietest I have is one I bought for my .17 HMR years ago (no longer have any FAC stuff), it's so old it didn't even need proof marks, the downside is the weight of it, all steel. It's an ASE Ultra for 17 HMR and .22 lr, nothing like the current ASE Ultra models and I don't know if you can still get them.

Just have a word with @mattw975
Quieter than my Hugget shroud and mod.
Quieter than several HW XLs I’ve shot next to.
I’m yet to find anything better.
Very reasonable prices. Very good service. And a member to boot.
Problem solved 👍

Although I've seen sound tests for silencers, personally I would say it depends on what you want.
Not everyone wants pure sound suppression.

I like a mod to be good at that but favour smaller size and lighter weight.

I've had loads of silencers over the years and my current favourite is the FOX 300 silencer, ticks all the boxes for me.

Do you use any of the A&M carbon mods? Wondering if they are less or more effective than the standard ones. Like the idea of them being lighter in weight. I'm not too fussed about the looks, it's about handling and portability.
I have both a Nelix and a Marksman from A&M. Both great and i couldn't really tell a difference but ive never checked. I use these on FAC. I have a couple of Weihraich's, the standard and the XL, the XL is quieter using my phone a dB monitor but not by a lot.

Another vote for Weihrauch XL and XLK, have both and very quiet with no POI shift , as others have said they're bulky, so I guess it would depend on what it's going on. I have also the Edgun Behemoth on my Leshiy, I've added another 2 chambers so its 5 not 3 and its ridiculously quiet, massive but quiet. Worth a look at the 3Legged Thing , reservoir mods too. Soon to be released and also modular. Saw them February at the shooting show and they're also super quiet. They look amazing quality too and not silly price at £90

The A&M carbon moderators (I've used the Twink C and Nelix) are beautiful, but not that light IMHO. The Weihrauch ones take a lot of beating.

FWIW I've switched to @mattw975 's ones now:

These are machined from black Delrin so (a) have a nice 'dead' sound and (b) being self-coloured don't scratch like anodised alloy. He makes them to order so you can have various lengths & diameters, special fittings (not just 1/2" UNF), tapered or flat-ended. Very reasonably priced too.

This is the Steyr at 30 metres:

I am using the Helia-S50 on an AGT Vixen and get no muzzle report at all tbh.

It’s all fluid dynamics init? PCP - baffles etc, springers - a roll of felt, more or less😆
In simple terms — a PCP mod has to deal with a big dump of high-pressure air, so it’s all about proper airflow control and managing that energy.

A springer though is a different animal. You’re not shifting huge volumes of air, so the job is more about taming the smaller pressure pulse and taking the edge off the mechanical noise and vibration.

…but I’m still fancying a backflow design, for looks, on me HW30

Huma-air moderators seem not to be so popular. But I like Mod50/4, it is not smallest, but very quiet one. Or more like 4 different suppressors, because it is modular, each added part brings some more dbs down.
Gun is .22 but the mod is .25, that combo works great and not slightest chance of clipping.
