men I have been a member here for a short time , I came to fix my Dads old BSA up - mission accomplished looking and shooting lovely - the problem is I now have a breeding issue ( I know you did warn me )
My flock has grown to five with another one on the way it's in transit as we speak ,
It's slightly concerning and my woman is not best pleased 😄.....
i just seem to of developed a soft spot for the old rifles from the good old days ......

May be a better option to remove your (wedding) ring finger 🤣🤣
Lucky for me my wife is actually from a farming back ground so grew up with 5 brothers and guns everywhere - having said that the last time one turned up, her words - "Not another rifle " and she knows nothing of the latest off spring on the way - A lovely mk 1 Webley Vulcan , I just couldn't resist it I lusted after one as a kid .....

No, you need another hobby, that would also lead to odd shaped packages turning up. I suggest motorcycles.
My dear late wife had zero interest in guns or motorcycles, could just about tell the latter apart by colour. Which is how I ended up with 3 blue Kawasaki's. Neither would she venture into my Big Shed...

Perspective is through the relevent eyes adjusting to it.
My mate bought another do a upper old bike, his misses said why spend so much.
Grest girl get em out of hock before 50 on the roof, good economist everything mapped.
He said from the kitty how much for your hair nails and costume.
She said its so i still please you and are relevent.
He said i wake up next to you every moning before you adorn the pleasing things to me.
SOFA no butts.

There is a cure, little known yet most efficatious, but it will cost you an old BSA boinger for me to divulge, privately of course.
Think of it as an investment, as you can then strike a similar deal in future with others in your predicament😉

Just tell her because they are old guns they are only £20 each and that you are keeping them as they will go up in value whereas he will start to look like her mother soon...... Ask me for more marriage advice anytime as i believe they have good internet in A&E
She must be so thankfull not to look like her mother, kittens worst nightmare 😶‍🌫️

I remember as a kid looking at dried up dog shit in the park nobody bothered, white crustacion. Now put on a jiffy move it on, happy days.
,
I remember being out shooting with a few mates, seeing dog and cow shit in various states of sloppy/crustiness... lots of fun to shoot as a mate walked nearby.

But the worst I ever did was down the old sewage settling ponds, imagine a cow pat but 18" deep and 70 yards square. As a dare or you're feeling sure footed and want to shoot bottles that the JCB unearthed at the other end of the pond 70 yards away you might walk along a narrow strip of soft earth only around 18" wide that they 'dammed' ponds with being careful not to fall in or put your foot in it.. There's a 'pond' on either side of this narrow strip of earth so it's a bit precarious and it would be a very bad day if you did fall in, bad enough just sticking the toe of a shoe in it. Crusty on the top, thick and fermenting underneath. Then imagine being stood half way along one of these 70 yard dams in an already precarious position along with 2 mates... and shooting staight down into the 'pond' with a .410 just 'for the laugh'... Immediately on pulling the trigger it made a hole in this pond around 18" wide and 18" deep, could see the earth 'floor' below the shit, first thought is I wonder where that shit went. The sky went black, we all had to move quick along this narrow strip with shit raining down on us.. "Run Run!" lol.

that sounds Dangerous to me !! 😁 I obviously had a sheltered youth we used to love building Air fix ME109's and such like hang them in trees and shoot them to pieces ... With the old BSA cadets and Diana's ....

While I do have a few older rifles, most are newer and yep, they seem to multiply...lol. For very sad personal reasons, I had to move a couple years back and here's a small part of the multiplication....
Storage guns 7-24-24.webp
That's not including the couple boxes of scopes, assorted parts/tools, and a crazy amount of pellets in 4 calibers (160,000 at last rough count). Also doesn't include the higher end more expensive rifles the girlfriend, who understands my addiction, let me store safely away in the bedroom closet...
Beeman family 2.webp
That's only 6 of the dozen stored here...lol. Again and very thankfully I have a very understanding girlfriend who understands, supports my addiction and has even bought me a couple :)
Try as you might, there is no cure, just debating which rifle might well be next.

Blimey I'm even more worried now , so in 3 months I have gone from one to Six - But as it stands I am happy with what I have , the last purchase is really to mount the scope on that a family member ( farmer John - it's too big really ) gave the granddaughter....
however there is a HW on the distant horizon for said grandchild & Grandad !! ....
Of course once you start rifle range shooting that opens up even more temptation prospects I guess ...
Your rifles look amazing 😍
