Brocock itch

I’m also wondering about its capability at greater distances, ie up to 100 yards (and possibly beyond with kind wind☺️).
I hear you about the pellet fussiness, but do you have any experience of having stretched its legs out a bit?

Not specifically, it took me a while to get groups as good as my (very pellet tolerant) GX-40, at up to 40 yards, so I was not tempted to try much further.
Where I shoot (hunt) there is a bit of range but the backstop is at 80 yards, so I'd drop the occasional pellet or three, there, to check drop, but not try any proper shooting.
I'd have to say if going for distance get a good single shot loader, and find the pellet the barrel loves, I'm sure mine is capable, but I just don't have the time and access to a low wind, longer range, to make it worth losing hunting time. The magazines, while expensive, are in my mind fairly poorly designed.
I've also a wider range of test pellets now, I really must get back out and try a wider range.

I’ve got a pathfinder XR .177 Had it 2 years absolutely brilliant rifle and fits in a rucksack 👍

I agree with you I’ve bought the carm magazines cheaper and work better. I certainly get on well with the single shot loader 👍

I've got the Sniper XR laminate in .177

It's got a slight leak at the gauges that'll need sorting but its a nice rifle to shoot as other have mentioned.

From a while back, much better results indoors and when , I had the shooting eyes in 😂

I think @Tricky-Dicky had one (can't remember who had the wall display)

@Peregrino was selling his.
As @valevelo says, I am selling my Brocock Safari Sniper HiLite XR in .177 or, was. It was on the sales for a couple of weeks but eventually dropped into the graveyard where it continues to languish:confused: If you are interested @SiegeA I guess it could be resurrected. I certainly can second all that's been said about the Brocock Safari Sniper XR, when I was looking at this rifle I had some excellent advice from the experienced @Boysey who highly rates it. My only reason for selling is that when moving house last December I put my knee out, no longer driving and waiting for a knee replacement. Having waited six months since seeing the consultant I have this week been informed it could be a year before the op! So decided as can't get to the range to sell my Brocock and and tool upstart afresh once I'm again mobile. Re my experience: I didn't find the rifle too fussy on pellets, though mine preferred the heavies, JSB 10.34 were fine but my go to pellet was H&N Barracuda FT 9.53g. I eventually settled on a Rowan Engineering Single Shot Loader which is excellent, saved me wasting loads of pellets and gave excellent results. Shooting out to 45 yards is pellet on pellet and I would happily shoot in excess of that. I can't say I ever heard the Brrr sound mentioned? There was a comment that the cheek piece may be a bit low for some, I actually bought an extra cheek piece which @nobby on the forum fitted with extension stainless steel pins, that made a world of difference. As also mentioned by some, the cocking action is truly great...it's what settle me on the purchase. I have fitted the Brocock 0DB silencer and it is whisper quiet... can't comment on the wet fart sound, out of my domain :ROFLMAO: And as to the finish, the Safari stock is extremely tactile, durable and to my eye a thing of beauty, love at first sight! I'll post a couple of pics as an example. So hand-on-heart, this is a great rifle and anyone purchasing one will not be dissappointed.

I own the much overlooked commander, its the bolt version not XR. Ceracote version, its a tremendous rifle, unbelievably accurate with Barracuda FT 9.57, makes me feel like a sniper every time I shoot it, EV muzzle break up front, not the quietest 😆.

Looks like a great tool that💪🏽
I did initially think of a commander but as the Sniper appears to have the same size barrel, am plumping for a less tactical look as my Impact has me covered there.

My sniper and the commander both love the baracuda ft's and jsb heavies

The sniper and the commander both use the same action and barrel only difference is the stock

Yep, I loved the more traditional tactical rifle look of it as opposed to the "skeletal" tactical offerings. You won't go far wrong with most BRK guns tbf. Sniper and commander pretty much same gun underneath.

The idea of that extendable butt to allow adjust for LOP is a neat idea and overall it’s a good looking rifle. Like you say, more trad than some offerings👌🏽

If anyone is interested I’ve got a single shot loader by Maples in sales works really nice with most XR Brocock rifles.

I had the sniper HR in 177 and loved it but then got bored and sold it 🙄

I'd like another at some point..
