Wood experts- is this beech or walnut?

I’m usually ok with identifying between the 2, but this example has me a bit stumped.
Can’t see evidence of the “fleck” typically found on beech, and the grain pattern looks similar to walnut, with mild tiger stripes, albeit very pale.

Walnut…but I’m no expert

Not absolutely sure but I think the flecking seen in beech is the same sort of thing as the tiger stripping seen in walnut?…think they are both caused by compression marks in the grain and they always run across the direction of the grain?…

My first thought from the pic is walnut but not sure. Walnut has a more open grain structure. More pics/close ups please

Im saying walnut. Theres those kind of deeper pits in the grain. Beech doesnt have that.

Cheers. It was one example where it just wasn’t clear enough to me.
I have seen examples of beech with nice grain, but too many question marks for me to make a judgement

Blimey! I’m usually pretty good at identifying wood but I’m not 100% sure . If l had to stake my life on it I’d say walnut.

French walnut I would say . Usually a lighter more yellow in colour like your pictures.

Walnut. You can see the pores in the grain which you can't see in beech.

I can see why you are finding identification difficult, if I had to bet the house on it I would say walnut.
