These possibly look better than what they actually are, but being a totally poor pistol shot, it's of little consequence.
A chance drop in to my RFD today and even a more chance conversation about SMK, led to me ordering a PP20.
To be fair, he offered me a price I just couldn't walk away from. We have a good relationship and this is one of the benefits

They don't half look the part and time will see if they perform well.

Gone for the removable cylinder model, after deciding that if any servicing is needed at any point, it would be good to be able to isolate the air source from the action.

Looks like it will be in hand next Tuesday and I'll continue on this thread with my findings (good or bad).
 
They look a great pistol. Am I right in thinking there’s a later one that has a ‘fixed’ cylinder?

After speaking to the RFD and asking questions, as I wanted a fixed cylinder, SMK said they have had both variants in deliveries, and they get what they get.
The current stock, is luckily for me, removable cylinder

Looks like both variants are current
None being newer or older than the other

From watching reviews, I think the Silver cylinders are removable and the black ones fixed. Shops seem to have only silver ones at the moment, which is what I want to get.

That’s interesting they offer both, I’m always impressed with Artemis/smk/Snowpeak guns, they feature the most in my collection not had a bad one yet. Look forward to your opinion

I think they said they'd had both, rather than they offer both
They have what they have at any given time

I've had a couple of PP700SA's. Very impressed with the accuracy of both
I'm expecting the trigger to be way better and I have a Tau7 as a bit of a benchmark

Good or bad, I will report.
From what I've gleaned, the barrel fixing arrangement, is like that of the Steyr H5. If that's the case, a re barrel isn't beyond possibility
At the price I've got it at, I'm quite happy to experiment, if needed
 
Following with interest as I looked at a used one at my local RFD, as a complete novice i purchased a sorted Mito for starters so look forward to your thoughts on this Rob, certainly felt well balanced and well made for a entry level match pistol.
 
As 2025 is definitely the year that I buy a match pistol of some sort, I’m really interested in your experience with the PP20!

The barrel arrangement isn't like the Steyr H5 but looks simple enough

Looking forward to it myself.
I have a friend who competes with a top line Walther, so it will be nice to make some comparisons in handling and feel initially. The Walther fits me like a glove so I'll be able to see why.

Expecting to maybe have to alter the grip for a good fit, but as a budget / starter 10m pistol this one looks to have a lot going for it.
It certainly plugs the gap between the real base line 10m pistols like the Gamo Compact and the big name pistols, at a price point that isn't too offputting to a beginner.
It's coincidentally cheaper than the Precihole match pistol that Air Arms have also aimed at that large money gap, so maybe that AA pistol is worth comparing with.

I'm only on the start of my 10m pistol journey, with a lot of learning to do, to even put 5 shots in the black at 10m, but I'm looking forward to the challenge.
 
I shot one of these for about half an hour at my local 10m club a while back, and it was surprisingly good!

The club coach who owned it was singing it's praises for the price point, and how it's an excellent pistol to start and develop with due to it's similarities to the top-shelf pistols.

Hi

I had a look at these on City Air Weapons (Solihul) website and their blurb, is that they are a serious budget pistol that will affect sales of the top line brands.

Going to be an interesting journey for me.
 
This is my recently acquired Tau 7
Just starting to get used to this and now have the trigger adjusted how I want it

Be interesting to see how the pp20 compares to this

I think maybe not

But I'll be interested in what you think of it and what you can do with it

At the very worst, it's (for now) stopping me chucking a huge amount of money at a top brand pistol, to find I'm never going to be a pistol shooter and for that, I'm thankful
