What’s the craic with YouTube, do people earn well out of posting videos and stuff?
YouTube is so useful at times it has got me out of a predicament or two it’s also interesting especially some of the Airgun reviews and hunting videos or sea fishing. If it’s an earner how is payment made and what sort of dosh can you make?

I believe you have to have a certain amount of subscribers before you start to earn off of the adverts that are put in between your videos. Not done it myself

No idea TBH, but I think you have to have a lot of views and subscribers to get any sort of half decent income, eg: 10's of 1000's?
I presume it all related to ads, eg: more views more ad time so more revenue.
IMHO you'd have to have pretty good/popular channel to make a living out of it, or even to get a decent side hussle....
I think it probably looks easier than it actually is, theres plenty of YT'ers out there who have hit a "wall" so to speak after a while, bearing in mind to keep going you have to continually come up with new content....

You need 1000 subs and a certain amount of view time before being apply to apply for monetization. There used to be no requirements IIRC.

Earnings are based on several different things. Some ads pay a LOT while others are fractions of a penny. I think before the new requirements came in and I lost monetization my best was like 30 cents a view on one of my videos for a few days. Another video on my Brocock Concept had like 10k views at the time and had only earned me a few dollars total.
The ad money goes into your google account, and once you get to $100 minimum you can request a payout.

I used to have paid adverts on my forums (model aircraft) and adverts would appear between posts. It made very little money and finally I stopped it as one of our keywords was "models" and we started to get some very unwanted things appearing on the site.
