Who's using what pellets in their XTi-50?

Just about to start a load of testing, curious as to what people find works best. I know there's no one size fits all, but wondering if there are some clear favourites?

I use mine for HFT and I'm currently using JSB Exact 4.52, 8.44.

I intend to check QYS Streamlined when I have time but haven't got around to it yet.

If I was chasing bench rest scores or a bit more serious on the comp side I'd put some more serious testing time in but for the time being the JSB's go well enough in mine not to worry too much about needing more

I have seen a wide difference in pellet preference between the same rifles, or rifles with the same barrels (eg FTP900 and HFT500)

My usual starting point is, JSB/AA Express 7.87gr, JSB/AA Exact 8.44gr and H&N Baracuda FT 9.57gr. Then, of course, there's head size and batch...

Here's a picture of my pellet testing a couple months ago with my XTI50 at 30yards.

Mine loves the JSB shorts 8.44gr, 5.5mm groups at 25yds. I tested all the brands I could get my hands on. My barrel is a little tight and prefers to be clean. The H&N FT were the next best followed by the JSB diablo heaveys.

Yeah I was quite pleased with that group 😀. My 9015 and redwolf all group best with the JSB Heavy as well.

I'll have to revisit the heavies at some stage. I discounted them a while back, focusing more on the mid and lighter range pellet weights. Sometimes it just takes a JSB Heavy to sort things out :D

I'm running JSB heavies in mine, all the decent batches of 8.4 and 7.9 were like the literal shotgun
Then you have the joy of playing with the stripper 😉

Stick to big brands and domed pellets, different batches and head sizes (not that they are actually that size mind) can make massive differences to accuracy - basically it's a crap shoot, so test as many as you can, but make sure you can get large quantities of the batches you testing if they are any good, otherwise your wasting your time and will end up with one tin of a really good pellet, only to buy the next tin and it be crap

When you test groups using QYS, test them at 30 and 50yds. I've seen some tests showing great 30yd results but less than average results at 50yds compared to other brands.

I use all of those pellets and they're all great in the guns I've tested with marginal differences in some cases.
