Hi All.

I'm looking to buy a decent knife sharpener and the Work Sharp Precision Adjust seems to get good reviews and is in my budget (£50-£75)

Has anyone used this particular sharpener or have any recommendations in this price range ?

Thank you..

I use the lansky system, it takes a couple goes to suss it out but once you know the ways it does a cracking job

The Lansky system looks like the same process.

How long does the sharpening stones last on the Lansky and Work Sharp ?

I had one, great for re-profiling but removed too much metal for me so when the belts all went I sold it. In the end I persevered with Japanese Waterstones and I've never looked back.

Ive got the same sharpener, cant fault it, does exactly as I want it to do.

I take it your referring to the electric one with belts - I was after the one you do by sliding the diamond file

I have one. Great bit of kit. I’m not great at sharpening knives but this gives me a razor edge every time. Highly recommend

Good system, I agree lansky guided system is good, I like the spyderco sharpmaker, but in truth I most commonly use naniwa Japanese Waterstones. What are you sharpening?

Another vote for Japanese stones for major reprofiling followed by the Spyderco sharpmaker for day to day touch ups

I have one of these, @robs5230 put me onto it, only foible with them imo is that I havent been able to get small knives sharpened easily but other than that great. Wife did a great job of almost removing a pinkie finger with a knife that had been sharpened using it, next time she might pay attention more when I tell her the knife is bloody sharp

Anybody else have a set of knives for the wife and one for themselves at their partners behest? That moment of buttock clenching terror when they cut towards themselves....

I have a dull (relatively) global set for the family and my own Japanese hand made ones that no one else is allowed to touch

I have one 👍. I have a few other systems but this is what I use the most. Easy set up, very little dust, and very consistent grinds/angles. I re-profiled a Cold Steel AD10, took an hour plus, but the result is hair shaving sharp. Used Autosol and an old leather belt to strop. I highly rate this for price and performance.
