Hunting Who's solely using a digital scope?

85% digital but its nice and refreshing to get back onto glass nice and crystal clear with no buttons to press or battery lol

DNT Zulus 5-20R on the HW100 full time, on the R10 at the moment is an ATN 4k Pro with ATN1000 range finder but that's going to be swapped out for another Zulus because of it's weight (and other issues).

I have recently swapped a Nikko Diamond LR 10-40x56 for a Pard NV008S LRF. I used to shoot on 40x mag most of the time. The jury is still out on whether 13x is going to be enough for daytime plinky plonk fun. May need to downgrade to a Zulus to get 20x .

I did use my Pard 008s LRF soley on my RTI for everything, day and night. It was great (especially for the Balistic cal) I think the only small niggle for me is your brain knows your looking at 'another' TV, so after a day at work on the computer, you looking at 'another' screen. With a real scope I don't get that feeling. Maybe somebody will come up with a Fujifilm digital overlay type system, but I'm sure that would cost allot more.

I used to do a heck of a lot of night shooting and have tried using digital in daytime
Its doable, but I really prefer normal optics for daytime shooting

I ended up with a daytime rifle and a night time rifle, with dedicated setups. Not a big fan of compromise

I’ve only shot vernin during the daytime and used a glass scope eventhough I have a Zulus 5-20. My HW100 with glass scope is zeroed to 15m so it was easy to pick it up and point and shoot instead of waiting for the Zulus to turn on and remembering which buttons to press and all that faff.

I use both a DNT 5-20 & glass i have 2 HW100's, i didn't plan on having 2 it just happened, the glass is definitely clearer during the day but you do get used to the digital scope in daylight.

I'm like a few others here in that i much prefer "glass" for daytime shooting.
Had a proper digi night scope but now gone back to using an add-on at night time.

The Zulus really is an awesome bit of kit, as it takes the guess work out of your holdovers etc but in my case as I rarely use it, it’s always a bit of a learning curve and trying to remember which profiles are for which pellet etc. Come to think of it I’m not sure what the zero distance is on it either

I tried loads of pellets and decided i had had enough so chose one i could group with and my shooting has improved.

Never missed a rat at 20m in daylight with 40x but they have gone mostly nocturnal now hence the switch to the Pard.

Not done a nightshift yet still practicing to get used to the low mag. 13x feeling a bit lacking at the moment but we'll see.

I'm sold on the night time use of either, a mate has the Zulus 3-12 on his ratting rig and the LRF/BC work really well and video quality is decent.

I suppose the question is more what a digital scope is like to live with as your only day time optic.

I have the Zulus and find it much easier to use in the daytime than a regular scope. Wasn't intentional but I found myself with two rifles and couldn't sell one of them so popped a traditional scope on it to use as a daytime rifle but still prefer to use the Zulus. If my next attempt to sell the daytime rifle proves as fruitless and futile as previous attempts then I'm considering getting a second Zulus which is sounding dafter with every keystroke!

Our eyes are all different, but with a glass scope I’d be happy with 4x mag at 20m. At 40x you must be able too see every hair follicle?!

I borrowed the alpex 4k lrf from my foxing rig to try on my pcp - total game changer for me as I tackle rabbits at night on a flattish golf course. I’ll keep a nice glass scope on the springer for an evening mooch, but while I’ve got a need to heavily reduce numbers, the digital makes sense.

I’m using an ATN 4k on my .223 and Sytong HT60’s on my rimmy and .25 puncher.
Then I’ve got SF scopes on my Rapids and HW100 which I use the Pard 007v on

I use digital for day and night, my daytime shooting is just plaster of paris Lego men and targets at 20-40 yds with my son, then night time is rats round the farm.

We use a Zulus V1 3-12 lrf

The daytime picture isn't that great compared to glass, but if you turn the NV on without the ir during daylight, I find the picture can be a lot clearer, just black and white instead of coloured.

Personally, I won't be going back to glass any time soon, digital suits my needs too well.

BRK pathfinder XR .177 for my rat permission and garden plinking at 45 feet

I’ve been using a Zulus 4K and Alpex 4K Lite one on of my guns for most of the year, I settled on the latter as I prefer the size and daytime image.

I have to say that when I’ve got that setup properly and on the button the rifle with glass doesn’t get much of a look in…
