Which HW break barrel springer?

Only knowledge of a HW95L .22 which IMO is an outstanding air rifle. MOA accurate for this 83+ year old & my wife also enjoys to plink with "OUR" rifle. Average is about 17 FPE after 10K shots with H&N FTT 14.66 gr 5.53 mm pellets.

is yours running a std size transfer port? or are they bigger in the states

thats about right for uk, 3 ish. would imagine doing 17 with a std port would leave room for improvement
I know not, if it has any bearing in anything, in the last year, perhaps two, our barrels are all stamped w/ U.S.A. ...perhaps y'all were getting some " warm" ones ??? 17 is as hard as I'd like a .22 95...

It's a shame you don't like the look of the 98 if you are already comfortable with the 77. If you can get past that it's definitely worth a try.

The 77K in .22 was my go-to for so many years and when I had a go with a .177 98 I felt fairly comfortable from the start.

I ordered my HW95L .22 from AoA in 2020 and it has USA stamped on the barrel with a S/N of 23169xx. I had a dieseling problem when new and put in an ARH kit with a Vortek seal. Also a through clean/polish and lube with Krytox GPL-205. I did not attempt to measure the TP and AFAIK it is factory stock. This is the shot cycle after the kit/lube and the cocking cycle is soundless until the piston latches.

FYI & may be in error. I have these numbers for a HW95 BUT I have not measured them.
TP size = 3 mm, length = 15 mm, TP volume = .106 cc. HW95 piston bore = 26 mm with stroke of 85 mm. Piston weight = 254 grams.
Pellet Rifle Swept Volume formula:
Rifle bore radius squared x Pi (3.14159) x piston stroke = cubed mm. Convert to cubed centimeter by moving decimal point 3 positions left.
Example:
HW95L .22 caliber 26 mm Bore radius = 13 squared (1/2 diameter) = 169 mm x Pi (3.14159) = 530.929 x HW95L Stroke 85 = 45,128.9 mm cubed. Convert to CC (cubic centimeter) = 45.128 or 45.13 CC for Swept Volume.

Any reason the hw90 isn't on the list apart from it being a gas ram rather than a springer? I was in the same boat as you and after reading both positive and negative experiences I decided to try one out for myself. The real plus for hunting is the ability to keep a pellet loaded indefinitely and being able to reset the safety.
I've only just got mine (from the sales section on here) so this is a question rather than a recommendation.

I have a Theoben classic and I'm thinking of parting with it. I'd just prefer a springer.

Fair enough. I still might end up with a HW80 or HW35 depending on how I get on. So far, having only fired it about 10 times I wasn't that impressed with the 'thump'. I was expecting a mild 'thwump' rather than a pony kicking a stable door! 😆

Sorry I missed this yesterday.

It's just that stock mate. I really don't like the look of it. However, at this stage, it isn't completely ruled out and I've been offered the chance to try one by another forum member.

Cheers

Had 'em all and if it's gotta be a break barrel then it's the 99 for me. Yep, do the galling fix and call it good.

Mind, once upon a time I'd have gone HW95 if it was the older version with the 16" barrel and muzzle brake.

The current version with the (totally unnecessary) silencer simply isn't as good IMHO.
