When I had some where to shoot I had two springers a TX200 and a Prosport plus I owned at least two pcp’s ended up selling all and brought a Daystate red wolf and a pretty decent scope when it was announced the range was closing I sold it all about two years ago.
Mid last year my wife spotted a rat in the garden so I started to look for a cheap springer l found a HW99 .177 on this forum for well under £200 so I brought it never seen the rat again though🙁 couple of months past and a mint new style HW98 .22 came up on the forum so I’ve got a 99 and a 98 I have to say shooting the 98 is a dream as I have problems getting a good cheek alignment for the scope on the 99 not so with the adjustable one on the 98 I have now decided to buy a newer and better condition.177 to replace the old 99 mainly because I would get Nobby to work is magic on the stock so my options are another 99 or my favourite choice a HW 95 with the silencer these seem to go for around £400/£500 which add the stock mod brings it close to a 98 in .177 so I would have two 98’s I have seen a 98 on gunstar £500 with silencer and scope but don’t know if they’ll post yet.
I don’t hunt so the weight isn’t a problem it’s bench rested I also won’t be going back to pcps as long term I still got to find somewhere to shoot

I tried a britseal with a tbt short stroke extension, didn't like it. Put the seal on the piston and happy days. Had a lot of deburring to do, as it ripped the original seal's front lip.

A 98 .177 would be the ideal second gun but two of the same 😱 I’m afraid I’ll get bored but I believe the difference between shooting a .177 and a .22 will help😀
I certainly own a Weihrauch HW 95 with a 98mm barrel in .177 caliber. And an HW 98 with its original barrel in .22 caliber. It's a great combination since I can enjoy two very different calibers. Both have silencers.
I'm very happy with both, as well as with my accurate Weihrauch HW 35 in .22 caliber.

You can’t beat a Weihrauch break barrel I love the ease with which you can strip and modify them

I decided i wanted a break barrel to use in HFT, decided on an LGV They are a bit obsolete now but still i chose the LGV. Worth a look in my opinion.
