  • the Daily hi thread just say hi :)

Hunting What type of scope are you using for general hunting now ?

On my Rapid, I have a Lightstream 4.5X14X44 FFP.
The Krait and the HW100 both have Immersive Optics 5X30 Pro Prismatic.
Then, I keep a Pard 008S LRF for darker nights, that usually goes onto the Krait.

• HW100KS .20 with Hawke Airmax 2-7x32 AO for daytime
• Ultra SE .22 with Alpex 4K Lite for in the dark, and overcast woods stuff

I’d like to have one of my springers in use for shorter range hunting, but more practice required…

I tried a PARD add-on, really didn’t like it - compromised scope mounting and just felt too faffy for me.

For a pure night time air rifle I don’t think you can beat a Zulus HD (V1 or V2). I didn’t like the Zulus 4K, personally, though it was very effective on my Ultra.

If I can actually get good enough with a springer to make it my day time hunter, the Ultra’s likely to go and the Alpex Lite live on the HW100.

DNT thermnight 225 on top of an ultra se 177.
Also have a newly P15 in 25cal which is having a t-eagle 2x28 on top for short range squirrels and rats within chicken pens at about 10m max. Sytong add on will keep the P15 friendly in the dark too 👍🏼.
HTi A4 384 thermal spotter for the win with any set up. Had it a good while but best bit of kit I bought 🥳

Hawke nite eye SF IR on 6 mag on my Super 10 with red light attachment. Wanted a side focus and it was a good price in sales section with lovely glass and floating reticle.

Vector Optics scol 14 SF IR on 6 mag on my Snowpeak AP 1000 with red light attachment. Looking for a side focus and it was a car boot find mint and boxed, again good glass.

Also option to switch out a Sytong HT60 on the Snowpeak AP 1000 for night work. It's very light and pointable on the Snowpeak making a nice combo.

Edit: and occasionally woods/grey work Hatsan Striker .25, 1.5-5 x 20 knock-off Chinese brand very good scope.

Alpex 4K Lite LRF for day and evening which I'm getting used to and really like on my S410, but for really bright days an original Hawke Panorama 3-9x40 on my S510, though I can probably play around with the Alpex contrast when I find the time.

A lot of the above kit I know of only by name, but the variety available is remarkable, as is what people find works for them.

Of my 4 rifles (2x spring, 2x rimfire .22) one of each is open sights, and the other two have compact 4×32 AO lightweight scopes. I've a cheap megaorei 3 NV add on for the air rifle.

Regards.

Alpex 4K Lite on my Vixen 2 .25 and my Leshy 2, but my other rifles have a mix of Element Helix, MTC King Cobra, and Vector Veyron and Orion scopes, all in FFP. I have a Pard 007 that I can pop onto any of those except for the MTC scopes (48mm fitting needed) if I want to use them after dark.

I use thermal and infrared on all my rifles except one a Rapid Mkll with an Optisan Taipan.
