What is the scariest film you have ever watched ?.

This thread has reminded me of a moment in Alien. Not the film but the Disney World ride. Very hot day so T shirt and shorts we queued and entered a small cinema with about 50 seats in 5 rows. Sat down and a chap behind me whispered in my ear "you're gonna like that seat" which puzzled me? Watched some space travel type film and then the screen lifted up and the whole seating block moved forward into the inside of the Nostramo. It moved forward further into what was a very creepy dark space and then the seating block stopped and it went silent. I felt something dripping onto my leg. Looked down and put my hand onto it; ugh slime! Then from the low ceiling an alien head appeared right at my face which sent me instinctively recoiling backwards and those inner jaws came out dripping more slime onto me just inches away. It had the same effect on everyone around me; they all got as far away as possible. Yes that was very scary!

Don’t know if it’s because I’m scared or not but I really don’t like zombie movies, it might be because it reminds me of where I used to work. Speaking of which I just this moment found out tomorrow is a bank holiday, Ah the joys of retirement 😂

True story on scary film experience:-

I was 19 and called round at my best mate's house, his hot older Sister (24) answered the door and told me he was out. I was about to turn on my heel and she asked me in saying he wouldn't be long so, I followed her into the Lounge to be greeted by the TV on freeze frame with Linda Lovelace doing what she's known best for.
Shocked, I blurted out 'Oh, you're watching Deepthroat' (my mate had got hold of a bootleg VHS copy) and his Sister replies 'Yes, its good isn't it, why don't you watch it with me ?' and she pats the seat next to her on the couch and at this point I realise the curtains are drawn and its like 10am on a Tuesday morning.
In even greater shock, I mumble some gibberish, make my excuses and I'm out of the front door like a Greyhound out of its trap !

I really wish I could go back to 1984 and give myself a serious talking to !

If only we knew then what we know now. Life is full of missed opportunities.

Only one scariest, and that was when I was a child. It was called " THEM ", about giant ants living underground and coming out of the drain tunnels along the Los Angeles river bed to feed on people; filmed in the same area of riverbed where the car race in the movie Grease took place. I remember one scene where an ant was eating the flesh off of a human ribcage held in its mandibles, which really creeped me out. I didn't see the movie until I was about eleven years old, and by that time my neighbourhood friends and I had already spent a couple of prior summer holidays riding our bicycles along and down in the river bed looking for places to catch frogs. After seeing the movie, I never went down in the riverbed again, lol.

Other than that movie, the only disturbing one I've seen was " Frankenstein's Army ", which was about reanimating dead soldiers.
Actually I'm not bothered by Horror, but I do like a good Science Fiction story.

When I was about 13 I watched a Nightmare on Elm Street followed by The Shining at a friends house..

Both scared me silly and I don't think I slept for a week or so :ROFLMAO:

Recently watched them again and whilst A Nightmare is now just silly, The Shining is still a really creepy film....

Another vote for 'Jaws'. As a kid I used to spend a fortnight of the summer holidays staying with my older brother in Bournemouth. He went to work, I'd spend the day swimming/snorkelling. Until one Saturday he took me to see Jaws.
