What is the best/worst scope you have tried?

Pretty much my experience of the Sightron SIII10 x 42 except it was the eyepiece that fell off. Even when it was in one piece, the image was dull and the depth of field poor.

It's amazing really. I wasn't sure about it until I saw a review where they mounting it on a known scope killer (Diana 52) and it was fine. My experience was made worse by an appalling retailer. I had to get Sightron involved just to get it resolved.

Shame as I loved the ret and the image was nice too. I have noticed Burris do a 4-12x42 with AO and a similar type of ret. I am a little tempted.

Best scopes i still have are nightforce, the compact 4-32 nx8 in dark earth, and the phenomenal 5-25 beast, but do not discount the IOR or KAHLES ranges especially the IOR crusader. Top price for top glass . walther was probably the worst one i had many moons ago, it changed zero if you changed magnification.

It's fabulous that there are so many different scopes to choose from, even if some of them are awful.

Let's be grateful that we have the freedom to choose. . . . There are (too) many humourless factions in this world who would gladly rob us of this freedom.

In the medium it's hard to beat a used Nikon Monarch if you can find one.
100% agree with this, high end scopes at mid price money, it’s just a shame that Nikon no longer make rifle scopes ☹️.
Another excellent scope which is no longer made and punches way above its weight is the FFP Lightstream 4.5-14x44.
I have two Nikon Monarchs and three Lightstreams 😊.

Think I am the only one that likes Hawke, I got 3 sidewinder and love them, not keen on the Nikon I got with a Rifle and I have just ordered a Vector

I think all brands have poor middle and top range, the Hawke fast mounts are bottom, followed by Airmax and then there Sidewinder which is there mid range scope, there customers services is amazing

I’ve not had anywhere near your amount, wow!!! But ones that have impressed me . Nikko diamond long range 4-16x50. From presentation(packaging) , picture , turrets (without caps….I hate caps!!!!). It’s one of my all time fav scopes, but I’ve never spent higher amounts . No doubt I would have other fav ones if went higher end.
Cheap (ish as now over £150) the UTG bug 3-12x32 is a cracking little scope . The vector 3-12x44 isn’t bad either about some price for a decent bang for buck compact (£150).

Although a nice scope the optisan eve 4-16x50, it’s fussy in the eye relief department . Again nice presentation package wise , no Mildots but an illuminated red dot centre which I like. That’s a trying to love but kind of hate scope at times.

Then the hawke 3-9x40, parallax at 100yrds🤦🏻‍♂️. School boy error presuming air rifle scope. It’s fine as long as don’t want to go over x5 at 30. I have tried to undo the objective, but darn tight so left it. It’s on a .22 webley which gets seldom use , so not critical. Disappointed though at £100(wanted a cheap scope basically ).
I’ve had a lot of hawke scopes previous, never been a huge fan. I know customer service is great, but I feel unless dropping higher amounts, the cheaper ones are not that good. Of course subjective, but a reason I only have 1 hawke now.

I am considering another for the FX, not sure yet , copper head is on the possibility list. Either way it will be under £300 what ever it is.

First scope I had was a Hawke fastmount which came packaged with the rifle, in the low price category and nothing wrong with it apart from I could not get on with SFP. I then went for a mid price Element Helix when they bought out the 4-16 x 44 FFP. I always had my eye on the Element scopes but the 6-24 x 50 imo was a bit too big for a HW90k. Great little scope and was so impressed with the quality and features that I bought a second when I added the Pro Sport.

A good priced scope a few years back was the ZOS scope . I bought them when they were cheap But now they are hard to find and when you do they are around the £150 and i bought my one for £60 But it was quite a few years ago (y)

I am a massive glass tart and have had most on your list. Low end I think some of the Hawke stuff is very usable, especially the 2-7 vantage. In terms of the medium stuff I have been very impressed with Delta and Riton, albeit by Riton I am talking the Friday specials without IR: at full price there are lighter and better options, especially in terms of reticles. Delta has always exceeded expectations and I am keen to try out a few more having used the 4-14 hft and 1-6 Stryker. In terms of top end stuff I have had most of it on your list. To be honest can't go too wrong with any of the top brands provided you get a scope fit for the purpose you required. My current favourite is a March but I also like Nightforce, nothing like pretending to be part of seal team six when creeping up on unsuspecting rabbits. More seriously Nightforce is great glass but you do pay for the name, worth noting though they give a very good military discount if you contact them directly...... Forgot to mention what I think is rubbish, suffice to say I have not been impressed with MTC.

I once had a no name 4x32 scope on a tornado that actually made things seem further away than they were with the naked eye, needless to say that went in the bin and was replaced by a used Nikko 4x40 but apart from that i dont think i have had a bad scope at all

got a couple of Hawke here yet to be mounted that seem clear enough and an old tasco 4x40 that i want to use as its brilliant but i can't get proper eye relief with it on the rifle I want to put it on

No point in me bothering with expensive top end scopes for the ranges i shoot at and most of the modern stuff looks like a pimple on a donkey's backside when fitted to a vintage gun anyway

Best for me is optisan doesn't matter what model they are all fantastic for me

I have two for my Worse, for me would be a second hand nikko Stirling mount master I think it's mod name was very milky and I couldn't see very well through it so gave that away

Bought new for me ws a hawke sidewinder 8-32 it wasn't great through the mag and wasn't as clear as the couple of older 10x42 sidewinders I used to really enjoy using

The latest scopes have good glass but terrible reticles i just cant get on with very fine transparent reticles the only thing they are useful for is paper punching. Give me a black solid mildot reticle every time for hunting.

All my scopes are side focus, AOs always seem too tight to move and awkward when out shooting,
iv'e always had MTCs or optisan cos the scb reticle just seems perfect for me and easy to use for given distances,
to me the glass on both makes is fine as i only shoot to 45yards and don't do paper punching,( i bought a panorama eve i think it was called)
years ago and then found it was set at 100yards it went back in its box and is still in the wardrobe today, scopes are like guns i think, its all about what you can afford or are willing to pay.

Best scope for me is two
First is the vector veyron 6-24x44 put on my HW95K amazing for the price
Second is the HAWKE SIDEWINDER put on my PRO SPORT more expensive but a great scope in every way”
I would recommend either one of these
