What do you do when ???

Tiz true ive seen quite a few on here Nath has done . you would think being ply it would be strong but it seems very soft . there is very little glue in between the ply . which is probably for a better surface finish .

I've been told by an laminate expert on here it's to do with quality of the wood used and bonding. They're also only strong in certain directions and weak in others - again, from our wood expert.

Snap this stock in exactly the same place.
I went in with a screw from the bottom.

Yer its definitely not like normal ply thats for sure . the whole idea behind ply is its strong .
πŸ™‚ Its amazing what you can learn working with a master boat builder on the boards 😁

For those wondering who the idiot was that snapped his HFT500 stock.... Well, it was me. 😒
An unfortunate accident that really shouldn't have happened. I had been feeling quite unwell for a while, and really wasn't paying attention and had an unfortunate trip on a foot stool, which resulted me falling on to to the gun table, which resulted in the rifle falling to the floor. Needless to say, I was feeling a complete twat in the resulting damage.
I had no intention, of getting it fixed, and ordered a new stock from AA, however, I admited my foolishness, to my dear friend and shooting buddy, @1260engineer some time later. Subsequently "J" came round to have a look and suggested it might be able to be fixed and took it away. Well, low and behold, I have just read this post, and seen the photo's of this magnificent fix, for which I am truly grateful. As always, I am obviously aware of 1260engineer's monumental abilities in all things gun related, but never expected such a fabulous repair, and for that am just gobsmacked with such a wonderful repair. πŸ‘.
Looks like I will now have two stocks, for the next incident (NOT) and consider myself lucky it wasn't the left handed FTP900 stock.
I can only thank 1260engineer from the bottom of my heart for his true expertise and help.

In normal ply, each layer is at 90Β° to the previous, so the grain is running in 2 directions which makes it strong.
With laminate stocks, the grain in each layer runs the same way, so they're no stronger than solid timber.
It would take one heluva wack to bust a plywood stock, but it wouldn't look as pretty as a laminate.
BTW first class repairπŸ‘
