Welsh Whisky

Gave up booze 6 years ago, still collecting whisky and Laphroig was my favourite. Now it’s Mcallen as that’s where the investment is. Bimber is also good drinking .

English Whisky is pretty good too. Well... Scottish still, Scottish distiller but the grain's from Norfolk :)
The Japanese do some good ones. Mostly I tend to see blended around rather than single malts.
I tend to wander back to Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Highland Park though.

I remember seeing some of the whiskies on sale in Schipol a few years back - bottles from the odd barrel from long-defunct distilleries... And prices in the 10s of £1000s a bottle. Even if I could afford that, it'd feel wrong (either as an investment, or opening it & drinking it).

Bottled in bond corn squeezings (Bourbon)

…and Laphroig was my favourite.
Mine too. Since retiring and stopping jumping on aircraft to places far and wide and with that duty free shops my whisky (and occasionally whiskey) consumption has almost ceased. I must open the whisky cupboard and see what’s in there for old time’s sake.

I do like the odd and I do mean odd glass

Oh don’t get me started on photos, I’ll get caught by wife getting my hidden bottles out all round the house 😂

Haha. To be fair I’m more of a buyer than a drinker. I’ll find one I like the look of and have a few glasses then it makes its way to the back of the cupboard.

Same except no drinking for me

BBC2 1500 today (Saturday) Whisky Galore. Well worth a watch if you haven’t seen it.

If you go to Llandudno you can have a tour of the distillery and learn all about the history of the Penderyn whiskey, and when the tour is over you get to taste 2 different drinks. I did it last year and will be doing it again next year, I think it’s only about £15 per person and takes about an hour and half to do.
If you like the legend try the Madeira that’s really nice 😁View attachment 281046

If you go to the Penderyn distillery at Penderyn you can have a there tour too. I bought my dad a bottle a few years ago it had a red dragon on the front but it was harsh and he gave it me back. This madeira mix is ok but my tipple is Balvenie 12 year double wood. Penderyn also do a version of Baileys which is more chocolatey which is nice too.

Wasn't keen on Penderyn. Waiting to try Aber falls . I'll only pay good money for real scotch though. I've just bought a bottle of talisker 8 from 2020 for my grandsons 21st birthday in 2041!

Danzey Jones for me.
More of a whiskey liquer but glides down like warm butter ❤️

Tis nice indeed.... 'Anything' Irish usually floats my boat though. Sorry you scotch fellas

Somebody at work brought a bottle of Welsh whisky to a work do. Sadly, it wasn't rated, as it looked to have souch potential to be a good one.
However, this relatively cheapie from Aldi slipped down a little too well. Not seen it since, unfortunately
