I have a nice old HW50 (the original one) which is a lovely thing to shoot, but after thirty or forty shots the big stock bolt in the front of the triger guard works loose. You don't notice it at first, but the accuracy goes off and eventually the penny drops.

It's just old, worn threads and I've tried all sorts of thread-bond without success, so this is my solution. I drilled through the trigger guard from the flat side, through the front bolt hole - there is just enough wiggle room to do this - and tapped the hole to allow a locking screw. A grub screw would of course be neater, but then I'd forget it was there when stripping the gun, so cap head it is.

Unobtrusive and works a treat.

You can see it more clearly here. I meant to point or round off the screw, but since it just works I've never got round to it.
The bottom picture shows the groove cut by the drill to get the necessary angle.

For what it's worth, here are my Weihrauch stock screw experiences!

[I'd had a BSA meteor about 40 years ago, and don't think I even knew what stock screws were then!]

Hw50s - bought new about 12 years ago, 0.177. After a few weeks I was practicing with it and for some reason looked down and saw a screw on the ground... slowly the penny dropped. Checked the others, all loose. Standard loc-tite fixed it.

A few years later, I bought, also new, an HW80, 0.22. Full 'export' power down here in Aus. Screws loosened. Standard loc-tite didn't do it. Permanent loc-tite (in desperation) held for about a dozen shots. At my wits end I saw a note about using PTFE tape. (Also called teflon tape, thread tape, plumbers tape.) I tried it and it worked, no more troubles.

A few years later, I bought a new HW77kt (full power), 0.22. Screws loosened. Tried loc-tite, no joy. Tried thread tape. No joy. Read of using metal inlets where the stock screws bear, then about using superglue for the same purpose (it hardened the timber). The glue and teflon tape worked.

Another couple of years and a new HW50s in 0.22, the 'fishtail' stock. The screws really haven't come loose in the several years I've owned it. I have nipped one or two up maybe twice in that time.

And finally, a few weeks ago - a new HW35e. So far the screws have stayed tight.

Have Weihrauch worked out how to keep them tight, or is it just co-incidence my most recent two have been good? :)

Regards.

Never had a problem with my older .22 77 or 35. The .177 35 is a begger for it, ta for reminding me to try some loctite.

Loctite 55 coming as a cord specifically for thread sealing will work better than the tape.
Only necessary to wind on a couple of threads. Noting direction of rotation.
