Ok guys, after going out with Gareth, @Lone wolf since he's got his fac, my appetite for getting mine has been well and truly wet again!

So I've always said if I get my fac then the rimfires I'd have would be the hw66 jagdmatch, .22lr and .17hmr, I'd have gone for centrefire too but they only go up to .222. I just love the look of them, look more chunky than the cz, tikka etc and supposed to have a really good trigger, something I'm struggling with on Gareth's guns after using air rifle triggers, nothing wrong with them, it's just me! I also like the stock on this model of hw66 too.

Anyhow, do any of you guys own them? How do they compare to the tikka, cz, Annie etc? What are the triggers like compared to the cz and tikka? Any opinions welcome, good or bad, anyone owned both/multiple and can offer any insight on them? Thanks very much in advance and pic shamelessly stolen off the internet, I mean, just look at it 😍

I had one a few years ago in .22 Hornet but i stupidly sold it when i changed calibres. Homer face palm

I took a chance and bought one without ever seeing one in the flesh and when i picked it up i was not disappointed the stock fitted me perfectly and was comfortable to hold either freestanding or from a rest the length of pull from memory was 14 inches which for me was perfect it had a two stage adjustable trigger and broke like glass it's the best trigger i have ever used, it was fairly heavy i think it was around 4.5 kg scoped with a 18 inch barrel but was well balanced so felt ok.

Comparison to a Tikka and a CZ well i have never shot or looked at a Tikka properly so can't comment on them but compared to a CZ the build quality and finish is way better and there is no comparison in the trigger dept they are not perfect though the safety was very stiff which i think would have got better with use and i had problems with the mags not feeding the rounds properly i was forever bending the lips on the mags to get the right tension on the bullets to get them to feed smoothly but i never did fully solve the problem, not sure whether you would get this problem with the rimfire rounds but it was the one thing that gave me grief from day one also bare in mind they hold 5 rounds in .22LR but only 4 in .17 HMR.

I only ever used factory ammo in mine as it was so accurate from the start i never needed to bother with homeloads so i have no doubt they would be just as accurate in the rimfire calibres, i think that's about it, just one other thing to note is the HW60 and HW66 models are not actually made by Weihrauch they are made by Krico, not that it matters they are superb rifles and you won't be disappointed.

Cheers mate, thanks very much for the info. They look a lovely rifle.

I have the CZ453 American .17hmr it has the set trigger option and with some adjusting it is a really nice trigger as I’m used to the AirGun ones as well HW100/AAS410 the hair trigger position wasn’t what o wanted but all SGC had in stock at the time and I do you use more so on long range shots it’s a nice option but not every ones cup of tea!

I only know one guy who has one, it's a very nice rifle and reminds me a bit of a Mauser 201 in a solid reassuring way.
Would I have one? If I needed a 22lr it would be among the choices along with an Annie.

i had a single shot HW60 and it was superb , trigger broke like glass and overall quality was way above my cz i had at the same time , didn't shoot any better though , both tack drivers.

no experience of the hw66 but did hear they where quite heavy , but the only real negative ive heard

I have HW66 JagdMatch in 17 hornet. I've also had cz 457 in hmr & tikka t3x in 204.

The HW66JD is a solid bit of timber. Mine rides I gator so weight not such an issue but something to think on. The trigger is an absolute joy, definitely the best thing about the rifle. I never had any complaints with 457 trigger & found trigger on t3x not much difference to cz (tikka in general is a bit overrated imo). The bolt on my weirauch is a bit of a bitçh, if you try work nicely then it doesn't extract well (cz & tikka much better bolt).

Does anyone know if the carbon steel barrel of the Weihrauch HW 66 JagdMatch is button rifled or cold hammer forged?
