So, do the early Vulcans need a piston mod to fit the parachute seal? This is one of my long term projects, it must make a big diference and defo the way to go.
I have obtained a piston from a late Vulcan of fleabay which accepts the parachute seal with no mods required.
Has anyone one here fitted a parachute type seal as a replacement for the original ptfe seal in a mk1 Vulcan? If so, what’s the verdict please, I’m thinking about trying one if it’s going to be worthwhile. Thanks in advance![]()
If you use the original piston then you would have to carry out a mod similar to welsh willy's Airsporter modified head. So, do the early Vulcans need a piston mod to fit the parachute seal?
I believe the Webley seals are 27.40mm.What diameter are they out of interest as I wonder if a Britseals one would fit, we do them in 25mm (TX) and 28mm.
The ptfe piston seal from my Mk1 measures a tad over 27mm i.e. 27.12 - 27.26mm, but may have been a tad bigger when new . I asked Mickey if you made one for the Vulcan but sadly not, so I bought one from Chambers. However if you think one of your others will fit I'll gladly buy one. The seals I bought for my 80's are the mutts nuts. What diameter are they out of interest as I wonder if a Britseals one would fit, we do them in 25mm (TX) and 28mm.
I bought one from Chambers that fitted without any modification even though its supposedly for Mk3's.So, do the early Vulcans need a piston mod to fit the parachute seal?
