I like what you have built, indeed I am considering one of these in pcp form-you are leading the way with what can be done!

Hi All,

New member here! Thought I'd kick off my first thread post with some pictures of my newly finished Webley Nemesis X Co2 22. build.

As you can see, I've gone shamelessly "Full Tactical" here, and considering the accuracy and generally high build quality of the gun (I must apologise because I think I am one of the lucky few who haven't experienced the ubiquitous issues with leaking gas others have), and also the high quality of the aftermarket components i've installed, I think it actually ended up being a bargain! The gun with attachments totalled £578.11 without propellant or ammunition and all the extras came to £258.74. So £836.85 for everything.

To preemptively answer why I went for the Co2 over the PCP...

1) I prefer to carry spare gas rather than be limited and tied to having to fill an HPA tank from a gas source. I spend long days out shooting on a private estate and enjoy being self sufficient for 250+ shots.

2) For what and how I shoot, I don't personally feel a PCP offers any major benefits within the sub-12ft/lb category - controversial, but subjective none the less.

3) I prefer the aesthetics of the Co2 nemesis X carbine. I dislike the grey of the PCP and also it's high mag rail extension meant I wouldn't have been able to utilise the flip-up iron sights (mine co-witness with the Hawke red dot). The black furniture and the stock design on the Co2 version are more my cup of tea. I also don't like the look of visible HPA tanks in place of a gun stock and after comparing the Co2 and PCP nemesis, I preferred the balance of the Co2 version.

4) I didn't feel the double price increase between the Co2 and PCP version could be warranted, especially given the minimal performance improvements (at sub-12ft/lb) between the two versions.

5) THIS GUN HAS TICKED MY AR15 STYLE GUN OWNERSHIP FANTASY < Probably the most significant reason on the list ;)

Here are all the parts and extras I bought if anyone is interested or wants to do something similar.

Also, just in case you think I must be a disillusioned transatlantic member of the NRA, I also own and regularly shoot an original 1997 PCP 177. Webley Axsor, which I have maintained in near mint condition since receiving it on my 13th birthday.

Anyway, what do you think?
Great post and I admire your enthusiasm and dedication to add that extra appeal to your Nemesis. My brother had two of them both in .177 but he had alot pellet magazine jams with them. He described the Nemesis as his ideal carbine C02 rifle and was very impressed with them when they were functioning well. He now has the SMK CP2 which he has transformed into a neat little carbine rifle and is extremely pleased with it. Personally I have never favoured a PCP. I have shot many and although there are many beautiful makes and models they have never appealed to me. I have always gone the C02 and springer route. At present I have a Crosman 2260 and 2250 both of which I have modified and added extra components to in order to make them my personal customised guns. Yes, they ended up costing much more than the standard models just like your Nemesis project but they are my ideal guns and I am extremely happy with their performance and personal appeal.

Going to have scratch that itch at some point as, flakey quality control on some of them aside, I do like the look of them.
I'm glad you found a trouble free one, the pistol variant which I bought S/H from @flatrajectory some years ago is still going strong in .177 although I know at the time they came out a lot got returned from new due to leaks etc.
I also notice now that there is a higher capacity magazine available which hopefully will improve on the double sided original mag.
If I can get S/H unit at the right price I think it will be hard to resist😏

Great first post... 👍
I particularly like the way you laid out the shopping list with suppliers and prices - very few are as upfront with all those interesting details.
I like a black rifle myself and own the similar, in principle, 2250XL - lightly modded with an air stripper, TR Robb trigger kit and Gravmag.
I run a Simmons WTC 1.5-5x20 on this rig which besides being a great optic really suits the rifle.

Your own choice of optic really upped the cost of your build, it's very expensive for a 1x red dot... Do you feel the extra cost was worth it?

Hi TD-Boy. I modded my 2250. Started with the basic 2250 and sourced all the parts to make it more personal. Fitted a TR Robb breach to it. .177 barrel. Custom fitted grips and M4 extendable stock, modified valve etc. The cost went way above what I originally paid for the rifle but I don't regret forking out the extras for it a bit. It's my personal customised 2250 and I get alot of interest from other shooters when I take it to my club. Besides I hate when someone has the same looking rifle as mine. It's nice to have ones rifle personalised to their own spec. I personalised all my rifles in the past.
