Webley MKVI Service Revolver slight issue maybe?

I wonder if anyone can shed some light on a slight issue I may have with my Webley MKVI service revolver.

If I put a Co2 cartridge in the gun & leave it for a few days the cartridge becomes discharged, is this normal or do I have an issue with it.

I have had it about 5 or 6 years & hardly used it, but I am sure it has been like it from new.IMG_5489.webpIMG_5490.webp
 
Don't leave a Co2 gun loaded with a cartridge ever imho. For safety firstly but also as well for the health of the gun.
Can cause seal problems, valve issues and other issues from what I've heard/read over the years.

For what they cost either just finish it off plinking or when close enough to empty slowly release the pressure and throw it away.

Good point, I hadn't given the seal/valve issues a thought let alone the safety point. Thanks.

If you haven't got any you could get some "Pellgun oil".
I used to use it on all my Co2 guns when I had them ~ you simply put a small drop on the top of the Co2 cartridge each time before inserting one into the gun. Just helps lubricate seals etc. ;)

Great thanks for the info & link.

I do have silicone gun oil, could that be used?

You don't just have to use Pellgun oil. Bisley is good as well, and other silicone based gun products. Best thing to do with CO2 cylinders is load one when you use the gun and remove it immediately you are finished. If you have a seal problem at the moment first thing I'd try is to turn the gun upside down and flood the valve and leave it for 24 hours. Sometimes using a hairdryer to warm the seal can work, but Id try the oil first ok. Good luck.
