Thank you best get it strippedThe Mark 3's never made 11 + fpe out of the factory due to the internal specs and long transfer port, but i would be looking for something around 9 - 10 fpe in a well maintained example.
If you have just switched out the piston seal, the power may well creep up after it has had some lead through it.
If you are the only owner, and it has seen a lot of usage over 50 years, it may also be well worth considering a new mainspring.

Before diving in, is it shooting nicely?
If it is shooting well I would personally leave it as it is.
Back in the day when they were amongst the most desired rifles available, we never had a chrono to test the power output. . We measured the power by the number of pages of a glossy, mail order catalogue it could shoot through.I have awebley Mk 3thative had over 50 years, I recently replaced the seal and when chrono it I got around 8 ftlbs in .177. Question to the experts out there what should iexpect out of a well tuned mk 3
Mine is just under 11 ft/lbs, and i can confirm that it is a horrible slammy thing to shoot. Needless to say, trying to sort a proper spring for it. Be much nicer if lower powered..I've had a few over the years and 8 to 9 ftllb is about the average , they aren't made for anymore really and trying to get the power up by over springing them will only ruin the shot cycle and turn something what is nice to use into a pig to shoot . They really are lovely things and it's a shame to spoil them for a little bit more power .
Couldn’t agree more - still have MK3’s and quite a few Airsporters in my collection from Mk1 - 6. Like them all but prefer the Webleys & they quite like Superdomes !The .22 Webley Mk3 that I once owned produced around 10ft.lbs with the Eley Wasp / BSA Pylarm pellets that were available back in the 1980s.
It was a decent solid rifle that was easy to shoot and I mostly shot mine with the open sights for plinking up to 25yds or so.
It also shot quite well with RWS Superdomes and I preferred shooting the Webley over a .22 BSA Airsporter that I owned at the time.
