I have just got my hands on an apex, I like the feel of it and accuracy is good. I have been shooting the evo ergo for the past 9months ish and have only had a couple of hand/frame hits.

I'm shooting with a straight wrist which I find easier with a heavier set up.

I got the apex on Thursday and I have had 6 hand hits already. What am I doing wrong?

I know the grip is alot closer to the fork tips on the apex which is an obvious starting point, but am I missing somthing?

It's starting to really bloody hurt!

Any help would be great!

I love that frame but have to say I had a day where I had the same thing.
Are you shooting heavy setups? I found it better with light bands, I think it’s just the “recoil” if you can call it that, you flicking the frame on release, maybe cant it back towards yourself slightly more if it keeps happening rather than a tighter grip on the frame.
I hit my hand only once but the pouch scraped a few times after so was close and kept opening up the wound so my frame is blood splattered and we probably have matching scars 🤣

I am shooting either 0.75 gzk or 0.8 sheshou. So a straighter wrist helps with stability. I had 5 consecutive shots hitting the spinner then a wild hand hit.

The I'll have a few shots after the pain has cooled down, a few decent shots then another hand hit. I think I need to reduce the angle a touch (my hold works fine with the evo). Perhaps I just need to learn the frame a bit more

Yea you are further down the frame with the evo though and away from the forks, using more of a brace grip does move you down the apex a bit but I like to shoot it almost pinch grip but the bands practically touch my hand like that.
I like to tilt most frames with heavier bands but if you compare the tips I would say the evo is 100% a straight wrist shooter where the apex isn’t as much even though it’s most comfortable, the tips have way less slope to them

I'm doing knuckle hits, just skins me every time

Yea I bet that is a sore spot to hit!
Not sure what to say apart from not tilt so far forward I’m afraid, it is designed to be held high on the fork for stability so you will always be in line with the band tilting too far. I guess it’s a case of trial and error and finding what works for you or go back to the evo and move it on to someone else if you can’t get on with it 🤷🏻

I have since adjusted my grip and cocked my wrist back slightly. I'm more of a pinch grip with my index finger and a brace with my thumb, seems to work and no hand hits since the original post. Still a straight wrist but no as extreme as the evolution.

It even put food on my table this week. I do like this little frame!

That’s great mate well done and glad you can get on with it better now. They are nice frames!
As for selling I believe it’s the general sales area for everything, not a separate catapult one. @Jonnyovy would be the man to answer that best
