Hi
Looking on the pellpex site, it says you give a lifetime guarantee on new rifles, which is very good, but were does that leave people who have to remove anti-tampers if they need to remove the barrel to unblock maybe or to complete simple maintenance or need to replace broken springs ect, I'm thinking of reximex and similar that you can't do anything on as there is a few anti-tampers, If you receive a rifle for repair and the anti tampers have been removed are they still covered warranty wise?
Has anyone on this forum had any similar situation with pellpex that can throw some light on it.
Thanks

Great question 👌

Ask Pellpax as they would be the one to authorise it . There may be some consumer rights that allow it so you could try Trading Standards.

Edit.

Just looked on their website.

Guarantee Warranty

All goods come with the manufacturers 1 year warranty (normally one year). In addition Pellpax offer a free lifetime servicing and repair warranty. This covers you for any manpower charges but excludes shipping and parts. This may not apply if the item has been modified or repaired by the customer or any other third party not specifically approved by Pellpax.

The provisions hereof cannot deprive the customer of their right to legal warrant requiring Pellpax to protect the customer against latent defects of goods sold.

The customer is expressly informed that Pellpax is not the manufacturer of the goods presented in the Pellpax web site and that Pellpax shall not be held liable for defective goods.

In the case of damage to a person or property resulting from a product defect, only the product manufacturer shall be held liable and sought after by the customer, by means of the information provided on the packaging of said product.

All of our One Off, Second Hand & Ex Display items have been rigorously checked by our expert team of gunsmiths to make sure they are in the finest working order. Due to the age of some of these items they are SOLD AS SEEN and all second hand items come WITHOUT manufacturers warranty. As these items are low in stock or discontinued, please contact us before purchasing to check availability. All guns sold WITHOUT accessories unless otherwise state

The question has been put to pellpax
We might get an answer off them when they read this.
How do you interpret The Guarantee warranty above?
Cheers

This may not apply if the item has been modified or repaired by the customer or any other third party not specifically approved by Pellpax.

I would assume that if you asked them they may give you the authority to do some things that wont void the warranty or it only applies to an RFD ( the third party ) that they have approved so you don't need it to go back to them. So if you asked if Bobs Guns could do it , They would either say Yes or No.

There was a thread on another forum years ago where some one contacted either the importer or the manufacturer and got the authority to do some work but they did say if there was any damage done , it would not be covered. I can't remember who the company was though.

whatever you do if you do anything you would want a written confirmation from pellpax first giving permission to do it and that they would still honor the warranty.

Hello All,

We always aim to support the customer in these types of situations. If the issue can be resolved in-house, it's usually not a problem. In cases where the item needs to be sent back to the supplier, many of them are understanding and typically don’t mind if you’ve done some minor work—such as removing the barrel to clear a blockage.

Warranty concerns usually arise only in two situations:

  1. If the gun has been modified or worked on without prior approval and is still within the manufacturer’s warranty period.
  2. If the work carried out has directly caused a fault or issue.

Our team always aims to support the customer, and if any complications arise, we will reach out to discuss the situation before making any decisions.

Kind Regards
Ross

Thank you Ross, so l think your saying to run it past you 1st? And the work allowed would be a blocked barrel, and pellet probe o ring seal things like that?
Thanks

Hello @Stafkoi

Yes, if you're ever unsure, it's best to call or email us — we’re happy to confirm for you. Minor tasks such as clearing blocked barrels, replacing pellet probe O-rings, or tightening/replacing loose screws are generally fine. However, more involved work that requires disassembling the gun or replacing parts may raise warranty concerns.

Kind Regards
Ross

Just read this again, and I'm still none the wiser, are you saying that it's ok to remove anti-tampers which you would need to do if you had a blocked barrel or to replace the probe o ring seals? I know most people probably don't have anti-tampers on there rifles so it's ok for them to get at things, l think the problem is reximex go over the top on anti-tampers, sorry if you have answered this already but l do need to clarify things.
Cheers
