So that would put your aim off to the left or right wouldn't it? I assume you would then have to zero in again?I'm pretty sure only one moves, but I've just sold mine. Seem to recall the offset on oneside slightly bugged my OCD until I reduced the apparture (which helped my scores) and looked 'right'.
But you would do that at the setup stage. So that would put your aim off to the left or right wouldn't it? I assume you would then have to zero in again?
Try Lacey’s shooting, they are Walther UK agents, I’ve only used them to get spares for my older stuff but I know they do servicing and have a workshop.I've fitted them. Two 5g back to back with the adhesive tape removed fit exactly. I've added 40g so may as well have just kept the Alu cylinder!
Well, I keep it in there and see how I go.
More importantly, my pistol is long overdue a service and its recently started to vent the cylinder when re attaching. I've managed to reattach it every time it's done it, but when it first did it just prior to me shooting the last round this season I wasn't amused. All I had to do was shoot and I knew I had 3rd overall in the bag. A DNF would throw the comp for me. Anyway, by really slowly attaching it more often than not works.
Anyone else had that or know what the problem is? Also has anyone had theirs serviced in the UK? I only know of EMRR but never used them.
I did send it to Chris Lacey in the end.Try Lacey’s shooting, they are Walther UK agents, I’ve only used them to get spares for my older stuff but I know they do servicing and have a workshop.
I shoot, daily, a Steyr LP-10. Love it, in fact I’ve just come in from my best target session I’ve had in 3 years of ownership so I’m on a bit of a high (that said I can’t see Commonwealth/Olympic call up any time soon). No experience/knowledge of Walther at all but one question I’d ask is what is the UK support like? In my case Steyr UK is a phone call away (in York) and the one time my pistol went back to them I was more than satisfied with their service/turn around time.
Good luck with your purchase whatever it is.
For the price of these type of pistols that is hard to understandTotally agree, but this is a fact: on walther's 500 default rear sight only right half is moving
As I told to my students with walthers, setup it once and throw screwdrivers away from the box, never touch it again
@Xis - its fine, your pistol is ok

Bootneckbob did you ever get the air leak sorted. It was probably one of the O rings on the outside of the reg has gone if its dumping air out of the hole in the trigger guard. Simply undo the 4 allen bolts holding the reg on and replace the 2 outer O rings.Hi Nick, the cylinder has no issues filling, which makes me think its the reg. Air blows through the trigger guard where there's a small hole in line with the cylinder.
As I only have the one pistol and I've just finished the season I need to get it turned around pretty quickly. I'm not one for servicing for the sake of it but clearly I've got bit too much of an issue to go in to another season like it.
Could you send me Chris' details. I seem to recall you've mentioned him before.
Ta
Thanks for that. I sent it to Chris Lacey for a service. I don't play with PCPs, but to be honest I thought springers were a dark art until I finally opened one up after 10 years of owning it. Talk about simple; that's why I like them. Not the same with people though.Bootneckbob did you ever get the air leak sorted. Just so people are aware. I’ve tried to order some bits and pieces and had a reply that they are no longer shipping outside of SwitzerlandHi bootneckbob, I know this is an old post but if you are still looking to get hold of the lettering for the sides.
I managed to get hold of the chrome lettering from Switzerland. Unbelievably less hassle than ordering through a Walther agent in the UK who said it could take 6 months to get them from Walther in Germany (ffs bloody brexit).
The guy in Indoor Swiss Shooting is Heinz Rusch ( sales manager), communicates with very good english so no problems translating. As a first time customer with them you will have to pay before the order is processed. ( other orders after that pay as normal).
How it works: email him your order shop@indoorswiss.ch Then they will send you an email / invoice in euros with their bank details - you transfer the money to them and they ship the order once the funds have cleared.
I paid for mine on a Thursday and had the letters by priority swiss post & royal mail by the following Tuesday.
https://shop.indoorswiss.ch/de/suche?controller=search&s=walther+LP500
The letters come in a hardish plastic template that fits into the indentation on the shroud so its easy to align them up and correct spacing is preset.
hope that helps you.
